Stocking fillers for DC2, 15 months old - help!

DC2 is 15 months old and already has SO MANY TOYS, all of DC1's baby/toddler toys plus toys that have been given to her.

I do have to give her a few Christmas presents, even though she won't know the difference, because of DC1 (4y9m). Also, family might still ask me for ideas.

For her "big" presents I'm giving her two things we don't have that I think she'll like: an aqua doodle set and a toy shopping trolley.

It's the stocking presents that have left me a bit stumped. I've dug out some small books that we hadn't got out yet (we already have millions but oh well!) Going to try and find some little In The Night Garden figures that DC1 liked and I'm sure are in a box somewhere! And maybe chuck some bubbles in too, all toddlers love bubbles.

Other than that... WTF else?!

We already have (and she likes)
Millions of books (musical, lift the flap, etc)
Thousands of crayons
Hundreds of cuddly toys
Various and numerous puppets (hand and finger puppets)
Tomy squeaky eggs
Musical toys (xylophone, drum, piano)
Blocks of various types and size (wooden blocks, megabloks, duplo)
Baby puzzles
Toy kitchen and food
Scramblebug
Small rocking horse
Pikler triangle (was considering getting the slide but might save that for next birthday)

We also have DC1's old scooter and balance bike that I'm saving for when she's a bit bigger, although she was playing with a scooter at a playgroup the other day.

Sorry I've got distracted by talking about big items... but I mainly just need small things (size and cost wise) for her stocking. Please help!

Re. stocking filler for the kitchen - do you have one of those sets of toy vegetable/food type things? I've got a big bag of plastic vegetables (also available in wood or stuffed toy if that's more your thing). Putting it in a toy shopping basket as a big present but you could open it up and empty into stocking/would also go with shopping trolley. DD is obsessed with sorting things between containers at the moment and apparently also likes 'stirring a tomato in a pan' at nursery so I'm hoping it will be a hit

Thanks, yes we have wooden fruit and plastic vegetables (gifts from different people) plus other food bits.

My DD is similar, although she's mainly obsessed with emptying containers and not putting things back in! She will empty any box, cupboard or drawer she can reach. I'm hoping the shopping trolley might possibly encourage her to put things IN it and not just chuck them all over the floor! Please, Santa Xmas Grin

But won't your older DC notice that these are his old toys? Particularly the scooter?

NameChange30 · 14/12/2021 09:45

Yes I think he'll know about the scooter, so we'll have to either say we sent the scooter back to Santa for him to add the seat and bring back for DD, or just say it's from us and the rest is from Santa.

It all seems a bit ridiculous really, on the one hand it's lovely that they believe in Santa but on the other hand I can understand why some people don't bother with the whole charade!
