Stationary gift for 12yo girl

Exactly what sort of stationary sets would a 12 year old girl like please? Perhaps brands, colours, designs, what it should include etc?

I have a gift tag from a local charity which has stated on it that a 12yo girl would like “a stationary set.”

I just don’t want to get too many practical items when she would also like some nice things too.

I'd go with stuff from Paperchase

Have a look on Typo and the Christmas referral thread has lots of discount codes for papier which do lovely journals and pens.

Lovely of you to donate to charity so thoughtfully.

My 12 year old loves Paperchase. I'd get a few bits from there - maybe a notebook, pens and some highlighters?

Perhaps this rainbow set or maybe this?

I'd actually include a mix of nice things and practical things, A 12yo will be in Yr7 or Yr8. My DD started in Yr7 in September and they're all supposed to have their own scissors, glue sticks, maths set and things. You'd hope the school would supply that sort of stuff in circumstances where you're eligible for this sort of gift but people do slip through the net or simply don't want to tell the school. Whilst things from Paperchase would be lovely, if all she wants are the basics to fit in and be able to function at school, it might be frustrating to receive an expensive note book.
I'd got for

  • frixion pens (blue)
  • pencils
  • glue sticks
  • highlighters
  • rubber
  • scissors
  • post it notes (never actually used it seems)
and then you can get a notebook and things. And whilst places like Paperchase are lovely, they are £££. Places like Wilko, The Range and even Sainsburys have notebooks, files & things in a range of different designs and which are good quality.

DD was never into flamingos, pineapples, sloths, unicorns etc but has been even less so since starting secondary school if that makes sense.

Why would a girl want sets that don't move??!! ( sorry, couldn't resist! - it's StationEry)

Maybe a mixture of practical and frivolous? So some fun coloured gel pens along with plain colours. A fancy pencil sharpener in a fun colour. Notebooks for home (I wouldn't get fancy ones for subjects at school, they like their own standard ones). A 2 pocket pencil case, so that the the pencils can be kept in one side and not make the other stationery dirty.

I'd get a nice notebook, erasable pens are usually a hit with secondary school children, post-it notes, highlighters. If you pop into Wilkinsons there's always a few nice designs in where you can get some co-ordinating items to look like a set. In store anyway, not sure about online!
