3 y/o Christmas help

Ok so it’s my 3 y/o DD’s first Christmas where she seems to get it. Up until a few days ago she said she was going to ask Father Christmas to bring her everybody else’s toys so they could all play with them together. Cute.

Until the local lions volunteers came around and they had a Father Christmas that told her that he would bring her ‘something special’. In her head she has decided that is a “roundabout”. After delving into her head, the attached picture is what she wants to get for Christmas… (blaming the local light switch on and DH for letting her have a go on one of these)

We have explained that FC can’t bring something that big on his sleigh (we do stocking and a present or aiming to but she is 3 and thinks FC is magic) and we wouldn’t be able to fit it in the garden. She is adamant that we will be able to because of the aforementioned magic FC.

Her ‘big’ presents are a wooden kitchen - technically a shared present between the two children - and a bike. She won’t stop going on about this roundabout though.

Has anybody got any idea on how to incorporate her Christmas wish into reality? Ideally not costing too much money and without actually having a massive fairground ride anywhere near my house 😅

Can you bring her to a fairground after Christmas? Tell her that ride x is “hers” but Santa asked the fun fair people to mind it because it’s too big for the garden and lovely Santa wanted other children to share it too. Every time there’s a fun fair her ride will appear!

Playmobile version? So she can play with but not on?

PoppityInThe · 09/12/2021 17:34

Another vote for Playmobil.

Find out if she wants a go on one rather than one to play with. It's different experience to play with one than ride one. There might be a christmas fair somewhere you could drive to or be a train ride away

This might be close www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353754173014?hash=item525d644e56:g:ogwAAOSw0SVhga1q

She says that she wants one that we can all play on (so me, DH, her and infant DS) on it together so finding a funfair might be the best option. Not sure there will be on out there fit for a short 3 year old as well as a 6’2’’ DH at the same time though 😂

I’m watching that eBay listing too. Thanks for the link. We’ve yet to delve into the world of playmobil so didn’t know they had done one

Hahaha oh bless her. That is so funny. I have a 3 year old too - it is such a lovely age

I think the Playmobil looks lovely.

I would find a grandparent or younger aunt/uncle/cousin to take her to a fun fair as a Christmas gift.

In fact it is a good idea for every birthday and Christmas to get someone else in your family to take first her plus your DS when he's old enough for it out for the day as a present.

My now adult nephews and nieces still remember the trips I took them out when they were young children when I was in my teens/twenties.

Playmobil flying swings bought for £5 off of eBay so absolute steal. Not in the box but she is 3 so won’t care

I like your idea RedWingBoots but I’m the youngest out of both mine and DH’s set of siblings so no younger aunts or uncles and the oldest cousin is 8 so might have to shelf the idea for a few years at least!
