Wee gift for DS' girlfriend

DS has been seeing her since Spring and she's lovely. Want to get her something for Christmas - on a major budget and I know she's not expecting anything. She's quite relaxed and dressed casually , not into lots of make up or getting dressed up. She uses canvas bags, is a vegetarian and I think quite eco aware without going on about it. Drinks but only when out. Any ideas as I'm all out of them and it needs to be online as I can't get to shops?!

Some pretty fingerless gloves? Etsy is good for this... not expensive..

GreyGardener · 05/12/2021 14:28

Any of the ideas on here are great, though if buying chocolate I would try to go ethical i.e. fair trade rather than bog standard as she sounds like a thoughtful consumer.
Obviously once you decide on what to get her check with your ds as hopefully he is a better judge of her tastes than us randoms 😀

Some nice chocolates and some cosy slippers or socks never fails!

BeefSupreme · 05/12/2021 14:28

Roughly what do you think you can spend? What is the absolute maximum?

Sorry, totally wrong thread.

Christmas candle is always my go-to little token gift

LAlady · 05/12/2021 15:26

Last year I got DS's girlfriend pjs (they'd been together a year). This year have bought her some hair products from my hairdressers.

Carhartt beanie hat

RosesAndHellebores · 05/12/2021 15:31

Last year I bought a make-up bag with her initial on it and filled it with a little soap, bubble bath and handcream. Cost about £12. This Christmas they are engaged and she's getting a coffee subscription.

Bellafrenum · 05/12/2021 15:32

Reusable coffee cup if she likes hot drinks.

gogohm · 05/12/2021 15:42

I would look for preloved jewellery at your local charity shop, she will appreciate the fact it's more eco friendly and keeps to your budget. Pair with some chocolates perhaps make truffles

This is a good idea. Sho are very good and I'm sure there is a 40% off code floating around.
cariaaad · 05/12/2021 15:50

Nice shampoo bars. (More environmentally friendly than bottles of smellies)

SpritzingAperol · 05/12/2021 15:58

Tony's Chocolony Chocolate
Succulent Pot Plant

I'd probably avoid that kind of thing as she's likely to have one or more already. I'd go with something consumable like some nice bars of soap (wrapped in paper/card), or other plastic-free toiletries (though possibly avoiding hair products as they're very individual so she's probably already got some she likes).

Ethique are a good brand for plastic free gift sets with face cleanser, soap, moisturiser bars, etc. Beauty Kitchen do products in metal bottles. Both are in Holland and Barrett or online.

Riverlee · 05/12/2021 16:04

I think second hand jewellery from a charity shop would usually get you onto a MIL from hell thread on here.
MyPatronusIsAPenguin · 05/12/2021 20:37

Rex London have reusable bamboo coffee travel cups reduced to £1.95. I've just had my order delivered and regretting not buying myself one Xmas Confused

jocktamsonsbairn · 05/12/2021 22:49

Wow! Thank you lots of ideas! Yes I think DS would be very unimpressed at charity shop jewellery. Might have a look at the fingerless gloves on Etsy and hover her them with some of her favourite chocolates. Thank you.

Posted this on another thread but there are some great ideas here. I've just ordered this

I came on here looking for ideas for my DS's girlfriend. She's a lovely girl but I don't know what to buy, I have no idea what 22 year old women like. Last year I got posh pyjamas .
I wouldn't buy anyone perfume and I've never seen her wear make up. She's a medical student and loves animals.
I saw a lovely hand painted silk scarf on Etsy which I would certainly buy for someone older but not sure for a young person

Beeswax wraps

jocktamsonsbairn · 06/12/2021 14:23

Thanks everyone for all the lovely ideas! Thanks to the referral thread I used someone's papier referral code and got her a lovely personalised weekly planner for uni. With the postage and the £15 off it came to about £8!
