Hair rollers help - teen?

Hi

Just wondering if any of you can point me in the right direction? My DD15 (16 after Christmas) uses those large Velcro rollers from Primark to add a bit of bounce/curl to her hair but also likes tongs and has recently started using the belt of her dressing gown Hmm to add curl to her hair! Are those large heated rollers any good - or are they outdated?? Any advice really? I’ve read reviews for the Babyliss boutique ones but don’t know ANYONE in real life that uses these anymore lol
I don’t want to go down the £100+ route with the cloud nine/ghd contraptions as this would be more of an extra gift really but something to have a bit of a go at while her little sis is playing with all her toys!
Thanks in advance

No idea if this is of interest but this is the only thing my dd aged 18 has asked for for Christmas- she is at university and says her best friend has one and it looks like she’s had a salon blow dry with it! Might be something fun to get ….

(I mean she’s getting other things as well but form her to ask for something specifically rather than “cash” she must really want it)!

I love the dressing gown belt trick! No damage to your hair. A great gift would be a heatless curl set, you can get them on Etsy for about £20. More comfortable to sleep in than a dressing gown belt.

My dd actually asked for rollers! I was looking at these heated ones here but like you I wondered if they’d be a bit dated.

I also saw this which looked like a good alternative to the dressing gown trick here

Last year I did buy an expensive curler but it rarely gets used, she prefers her cheaper curling wand!

I have something similar. The effect is dramatically improved with generous amounts of root lifter spray but that could be because I have very straight hair.

Oh, I meant the root lifter about the hot air brush. Mine rotates to give a blow dried effect as you pull it through the hair.

I'd get her a set from silkenberry. It's beautiful and works amazing. It's much better for the hair than the dressing gown belt, and you get a comb, 2 silk scrunchies and a clip. It's brilliant and my curls last all day. I'm a secondary school teacher and the kids are always asking me how I do my hair, I'm a big fan of it as obviously it's heatless and super easy

This is the link, abs the Black Friday offer is still on too

My teen got bored of the rollers very quickly.

We both have thick hair and the hot air brush has revolutionised our hair regime. We've got the boots one with a stiffer brush attachment.

Also, a few years ago I did invest in the wide ghds. Worth every single penny.

Thanks all - I’m going to give the heated rollers a miss and go for a silk heatless set to replace her dressing gown belt! Also interested in the hot air stylers so am thinking will invest in one of those for her bday with some root spray!! Thanks again!
