we arrived at 10-45 to see the 2200 santas from the fun run finishing, a couple of people had dressed there dogs up in santa hats which the dd's loved. we then went over to the band stand where the brass band was playing and all the santas and crowd sang flower of scotland.

after that we headed over to the reindeer enclosure and santa arrived to feed the reindeer and talked to nearly everychild there, we then went into a tent where all the children sat at santas feet while he read a few stories and talked to the children somemore (best santa i have ever seen, was very impressed)

we finished of by going on the santa express train, big wheel and had a shot at trying to ice scate.

best day out we have had in a long time

my 2 are 6 and 9

are they too old for some of it?

kerryk · 16/12/2007 18:27

my pair are 6&3 but we also met up with my cousins who are 9,7 &3 and every one of them had a fantastic time!!!!

it really is worth a visit if you can make it, we are going to go back on friday

there afe p lenty things for older kids - the big whell, the swinging chairs (are they there this year?), teh german market, skating, sip of german sweet spiced wine (tastes like ribena)

def not too old, snowy

kerryk · 16/12/2007 18:55

yes the chairs are there, and the bungy dome but my lot are to small for that.

thanks, does it cost a lot?

kerryk · 17/12/2007 13:12

£3.50 each for the big wheel but we managed to get tiny dd2 (3) on for nothing.

ice skating was £30 for the 4 of us but its only once a year we do it.

the santa train is £1.50 per adult and £1.00 per child very resonable i felt.

the reindeer and meeting santa were free so that was even better

oh yeah, it's a pricey trip. By the time we pay for a german sausage in a roll and usually have to go and get the kids a hot chocolate 'cause they are freezing, or force-feed them gluhwein, we spend a good whack of money. And that's without the ice-skating.

and we don't buy any gifts from the market. You need to have the cash to make it fun.
