So every year without fail our fridge is heaving with Xmas food
And all I seem to say is 'don't touch that it's for Christmas'

I always seem to forget that we need to eat in the run up to Christmas 🙄

What are your go to pre Xmas meals that are not just pasta or normal everyday food?

Just usual meals until my DH flies in on the 23rd, then we will have a Chinese takeaway. We always order extra rice etc so we have enough for Christmas day.
The 24th is when we have our Christmas dinner.
The 25th will see us eating the left over Chinese.

Party food! You know, the nice nibbly stuff like breaded cheese. Any excuse!

That is when we start our Christmas menu, the children have often finished school so breakfast is whatever you fancy but lunch and dinner are set. It isn't sophisticated but we like it

20th hummus dip with that Nandos mini bottle of of drizzle oil (you can buy it from Nandos) with warm pitta and crudites. Dinner is Curry at a gorgeous restaurant.
21st Bagels with smoked salmon, cream cheese, or scrambled egg. Dinner is pulled pork, roasted baby potatoes, homemade salsa and sour cream.
22nd Ooni pizza if the weather is good or bought pizza if not. Dinner is a simple charcuterie board.
23rd Left over pulled pork as nachos. Dinner is children's party food, pork pies, nuts, sausage rolls, cheese with pineapple, party rings!
24th fresh cooked waffles with vanilla ice cream and maple syrup. Dinner is mustard maple glazed ham with crunchy roast potatoes and veg.
25th Traditional Christmas lunch which my sister cooks (love her) she is veggie so the variety of veggie dishes is huge and appreciated and then grazing food later at the in-laws for dinner.
26th Reheated left over glazed ham in fresh baked rolls. Dinner is a cheeseboard.

We then have family for the next couple of days so this changes every year food wise and I have to cater for coeliac and diabetics. We love our food choices. We like tradition hence the same menu over the years. We can have variety for the rest of the year.

Quite simple dinners like pasta bakes, chilli, goulash, etc. Stuff that doesn't take much prep or washing up.

Kids finish school on the 21st this year , you have prompted me to make a plan.

21st - Ten pin bowling and pizza with friends.
22nd - Gnocchi, bacon, mushrooms, spinach and Parmesan. Super quick!
23rd - M&S party food and a movie.
24th - Out for late lunch with friends.

We do meals that don't resemble Christmas Dinner - so more like curry, stir fry, paella etc. Although we have ended up making a really nice mushroom risotto for Christmas eve itself the last couple of years - it needs a glass of white wine in so we then drink the remainder of the bottle whilst filling stockings that evening.
