Yes REALLY. I didn't make it clear then!

Well at her party they all emailed her and then she sent them each a clue didn't she? Saying you've got to find out who . . .

Or you email and then hand them a bit of paper when they come in about who've they got to find.

Will there be prizes?

Might be good for disparate group of friends, make them mingle and chat. Mostly they need to drink of course.

Does the drug user come and skin up in the kitchen then? If its just the one, you'd think they might wait?

Are you absolutely sure mrs magistrate that it was hashish that was of interest to your friend, what with the foil and the spoon and all?

Oh no. DH won't play. Are you going to bother doing it? Could back-fire. You'd need to be feeling very chipper and confident to see it through I think.

DH's party was okaaay, I think. I don't know. I don't like parties. Also very disparate group of people, but they all talked a great deal and games were avoided, so I think it was alright. Cocktails were drunk very early on, and it all went swimmingly from there. Then they all rang up and said, 'Who was so and so? I've never met them before' and sound mildly offended about it.

Dh declared quite loudly at the end of the evening 'You are all our favourite people in Bath' and they looked pleased and frightened all at once.

I'm going to pay you to sit in cafes? This is like that carpet negotiation thing.

What will you be researching?

Interesting.

ok, for the secrte game its like this - send an e-mail to each guest saying you need a secret fact that onone else will know. Then you type hem all up eg

Find some one who....

  1. Had a pee next to John Peel
  2. single handedly built a shed last weekend
  3. ....

and give each guest a copy of list when they arrive.

TBH can't remmeber if prizes or not - must have had too much wine by then

Well... there was the year that we played party games... including how many 2p pieces can you clench in your bum cheeks and drop into a bowl. Very funny if you're pissed and with very old friends... could be a tad embarrassing otherwise...

discoverlife · 21/12/2007 11:10

I have found twister is a brilliant ice breaker, obviously only for the fitter elements of your party, but it is so hilarious being 'not able through health' and watching the others.

hermykne · 21/12/2007 19:34

well i had 26 adults to mine on wednesday night, "canapes" and alcohol and shllloooerrrr.
nice music which was drowned out pretty soon.so wouldnt worry about that.

no need for any games, most of my guests didnt know each other but everyone soon geled.aging from 30 to 48.

mine was special because of the decorations, food and balance of guest if i say so myself and the atmosphere in the house.
is that smug enough
