and £2000 for a Noahs Ark!

Are people mad??? What a waste of money.

Krimble · 15/12/2007 23:40

Def an alternative universe, those gollys were awfull looking too.

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 15/12/2007 23:42

Take note they were allowed to be called gollywogs though, maybe that's what makes them so expensive.

And the rattles come with a paper on "A Brief History of Rattles".

edam · 15/12/2007 23:42

WTF?! Link brought up the Noah's Ark page - for £2k I'd want something big enough to house a real elephant!

LittleSleighBellasRinging · 15/12/2007 23:44

LOL this is the sort of site that is used by people who have pursed disapproving lips about how much money poor people spend on crap at christmas.

expatinscotland · 15/12/2007 23:44

Rumour has it that the Beckham's are giving their boys a £50,000 treehouse for their Christmas.

Far cheaper than a lockup in Edinburgh, at least .

Krimble · 15/12/2007 23:44

Didn't see the word wog anywhere???

One of them is described as dressed to kill though, I think they meant he was a bit dapper though

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 15/12/2007 23:44

Just house an elephant?? I;d want an elephant in it

OP posts:
TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 15/12/2007 23:45

Oh was it just a golly? I got distracted by the price tag.

OP posts:
cheeset · 16/12/2007 00:01

Just lifted my jaw off the keyboard-i'm shocked at the prices!

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 16/12/2007 00:06

I know!
£30 for three toy soldiers

Izzybel · 16/12/2007 00:12

2K for a Noah's Ark? Bargain!

cheeset · 16/12/2007 00:21

Tiny, how the hell did you find this site? looking to burn a couple of million

handlemecarefully · 16/12/2007 00:38

I guess they have customers from overseas rather than just 'domestic'

OverRated · 16/12/2007 01:40
Shock
Tortington · 16/12/2007 01:55

i get all my arks from there

fortyplus · 16/12/2007 01:59

Mt boys have a Mamod steam traction engine - at £125 that's one of the cheapest things on the site! I bet the £2000 Noah's Arks never go near a child - they'll be bought by 'collectors' to go with their extensive set of Lilliput Lane cottages and the like.

curlywurlycremeegg · 16/12/2007 02:22

£30 for one extra elephant for your £2000 ark.....bargin

RedheadBaba · 16/12/2007 02:54

Don't shoot me for this.

But - a work colleague spent £80 on a Bratz tour bus thing for her DD's birthday last month, it was this plastic thing that broke in 2 days! Another friend has a family hierloom wooden dollshouse their grandmother had in the 1920's.

So if you think about it terms of £80 = 2 days (obviously got a replacement but point stands), £2000 = potentially 80+ years there may be come long term value for money there after all.

Might be a valid point if I actually had £2000 to invest in a future family heirloom
