My eldest is a little stuck for what to ask for this year, she's at that weird inbetween age. She is currently obsessed with Operation Ouch and facts about the human body. She sort of mentioned this in passing when writing her Santa letter but doesn't know what to ask for. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

The Adam Kay books about the human body.
There are also well-made toy human models where you can remove all the anatomically correct body parts and organs and put them back.

And of course there’s the Operation board game if she doesn’t have it already.

You could make her a 'doctors kit' if she isn't too old for imaginary play. You could get a thermometer, bandages, syringes (no needles), a stethoscope etc.

We used to have anatomy colouring books when I was a student nurse - maybe she'd like a more basic one of those?
p.s I wish my 9 yo DD didn't know what to ask for!! I think her 'inbetween stage' involves asking for toys plus more grown up stuff!!

We did a medical kit at similar age. You can make 'x rays' putting one piece of paper over a print out of a broken bone and laminate it together. Real stethoscopes are surprisingly cheap. Do be aware it could back fire, supporting a child wanting to get into medical school is surprisingly stressful.
