Where can i find green garland that doesn't look plastic?

Make one? It's dead easy with some florists wire and some holly/ivy/spruce foliage.
You will need decent gardening gloves though.

How long would it last as I really wanted to do this too. I just don’t want wilting, smelly foliage on Xmas day

Not going to last long in a centrally heated house. Hence I am on the lookout for a realistic fake.

I’ve made some lovely natural garlands for tables and shelves, but wouldn’t hang one over a fireplace or close to a direct source of heat. I make ours mid December and they’re pretty crispy come Boxing Day! Natural displays in vases are a longer-living alternative.

Just a note on using scavenged foliage - it’s actually illegal to remove foliage without the permission of the owner or forestry commission. That said, so long as you only take small amounts from fallen trees I can’t see the harm (and do so myself). Obviously don’t take branches with berries - use decent quality faux berry sprays if you need colour and reuse each year. Basically don’t be one of the twats you see lopping branches off saplings and stealing all the winter berries!
