Nursery staff - would you like this?

Lovely staff at my DD's nursery! There's 4 women and they're all fab.

Was going to just put together a little hamper of Christmas treats - mince pies/stollen/naice biscuits/crisps etc and pop it in a week before the end of term for them to enjoy on their breaks.

Would that be ok? I'd have no idea where to start with individual gifts and don't really want to buy tat.

Yes I'd love that.

I’m doing this too. As an ex teacher, I know the last few days or term the staff room usually has an abundance of treats so I’m giving it to them on the second to last Monday so they have a couple of weeks to enjoy it before the holidays.
I’m also putting a fancy cordial, nice tea bags and Costa instant coffee in there x

This sounds like a lovely idea but can I ask if this is normal to buy for nursery staff? It's my DDs first Christmas in a nursery this year so I hadn't even thought of it. I know it happens at school. There are a lot of staff in DDs room so would you buy just for key worker? I like your idea about something for them all to share though.

This sort of present always goes down well at the nursery where I work. If there is an abundance of biscuits/chocs (which there usually is) we all choose something to take home and some is left for when we go back in the New Year.

@GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat great, thanks! Grin

@AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken I wouldn't have even thought of that, will drop it in a week earlier than I was planning in that case some great suggestions of what to add, thank you! Smile

@organicapricot I'm not sure what people do for private day nursery, this is school nursery (I've been very lucky to have family childcare before now so this is my first year navigating it also!) Smile

I’d say put a couple of mini hand creams or maybe a shampoo bar or something in too. Some may be on diets or have allergies so this expands the range it could suit (appreciate there are allergies to toiletries too).

@Lulu1919 hadn't even thought it that! I'll definitely make sure it is, thanks for the heads up.

@organicapricot it’s DC’s first Christmas in a private nursery. I’ve bought his key worker a Costa gift card and the rest of the staff a box of M&S biscuits.

MargosKaftan · 22/11/2021 13:49

@organicapricot - when my dcs were in a private nursery, I bought their key worker a gift (usually a gift voucher for somewhere), and a tin of chocolates for the staff room. When dcs got old enough to understand giving gifts as well as getting new things (normally preschool age), I took them to a local posh chocolate shop the week before and they'd pick some chocolates for their key worker.
