Super mini, aeroplane safe, stocking ideas

Its looking likely DH wont get back for Christmas.
I have a week to get him a mini sized stocking together, that security wont object to, and will last a month. He will have NOTHING Christmas related with him.

I'm thinking:
A miniature bottle of whisky
A miniature Christmas cake (I bought one years ago from Clinton's cards or similar, any idea these days - I'm literally thinking a 1inch square piece)
Net of chocolate coins.
Trying to come up with something for him to do - books are out, as weight will be tight, so he will read on his phone.

Any clever ideas about what else I could slip in? Something excerise related??

His present will just sit here and wait for him, but I'd really like him to have something on the 25th.

Something excerise related??
The smallest exercise thingy I can think of are resistance bands.

Do you mean he will have nothing Christmas related with him because he's not planning on taking anything or because it's not allowed where he is going?
Don't forget you can't hide things in his bag because he needs to be able to tell security he knows exactly what he's carrying.
Seasonal socks?

InTheLabyrinth · 20/11/2021 20:54

I know I cant hide anything, he knows what's happening, and he will know roughly what's in there.
Nothing with him because he has 23kg for a month, and Christmas will be low on the packing list!!! He has a set of resistance bands that will go with him. He's basically going to spend the 25th in a hotel room on his own, with nowhere he can go.

Seasonal socks are a good idea - one can be used as the stocking!!!

What about a number of tiny envelopes, in one.....Netflix The Nativity 8pm 24th Dec (then be there at the same time to press play at the same time & watch over video call together), another with a link to a YouTube Carol playlist for Xmas morning etc. A mini lego or cardboard construction challenge. Also and lidl are fab for singe servings of nice treat Christmas food, but you may need to chop down and repackage still if weight is so brutally light!

Chocolate coins
Silk Socks
Fragrance
Puzzle or game (wire puzzles or slide puzzles weigh nothing?
Letters from home
Luxury Grooming product
Good quality face coverings

If you can post it nearer the time rather than send it with him add some walnuts and a satsuma.

Would it be possible for you to contact he hotel and arrange for a mini hamper to be delivered to his room on Christmas morning? Quite apart from the problems of food keeping fresh, some countries ban the import of foodstuffs so you need to be a bit careful about what you pack.

InTheLabyrinth · 20/11/2021 22:19

For various reasons, postal or local delivery isnt going to work.
We are not new to this moving stuff round the world in suitcases. Prepacked, non meat, food in small quantities will be fine. We know the country well.

Thankyou for the suggestions.

I saw a box of miniature bites of Christmas cake in Waitrose today. They also had mini mince pies.

Escape room envelope game, nanoblocks mini Xmas tree/snowman, paperchain kit so he can decorate his hotel room, spacemask, sugru, wallet ninja. Starbucks/Costa coffee sachets, yorkshire tea bag (individual wrap) dairy milk (or other things he likes from home and can't get easily where he is!)

Chakraleaf · 21/11/2021 08:01

I think the envelop idea is best, a letter, poem?

WhatonEarth1 · 21/11/2021 08:16

Nano blocks

He’s not spending Christmas in MIQ in NZ by any chance is he? Smile.I’ll be there with my 12 and 9 year olds and also trying to think of mini stocking fillers for them to hide around the hotel room.

InTheLabyrinth · 21/11/2021 14:01

Not in NZ, stclair, but yes a massively long time doing similar elsewhere in the world. Time difference means simultaneously watching stuff isnt going to work.

Light stuff for your kids: a set of flux cards, the IQ puzzle linked above by WhatonEarth, rainbow changing scratch paper, a geometric sticker book - we have the animal one, and its lovely. Good luck!

Could you get a couple of upgrades of clothing he usually wears. Merino T-shirts etc could be practical if he has to wear the same thing twice.
