I don't want any more 'stuff' either. I would love a bowl of white hyacinths. A perfect gift for this time of the year. I would be very happy if adult DC bought this between them. DH would be happy if it was a joint gift to us.

Just over 60 and love any plants/ pots for me to plant in etc.
Also like good gym wear

Snoopsnoggysnog · 19/11/2021 17:33

Thanks for the sock subscription link - that’s DH (not over 60) sorted!

FuzzyPuffling · 19/11/2021 17:47

I'm over 60.
Monty Bojangles Truffle Trunk please.

FuzzyPuffling · 19/11/2021 17:48

Or a fabulous lipstick.

My mum loves dogs but we don't have one our own. I often sponsor a dog in long-term foster care in her name through the Oldies Club, who rescue and rehome elderly and ex-breeding dogs.

I am 60 and a bit.

I don’t want ‘stuff’ for the sake of it.

If there are things I would like I let it be known. Including novels, for example.

Otherwise vodka, crémant, Campari, top quality olive oil.

Vouchers all good, but what’s the point of exchanging vouchers? Happy not to do presents.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 19/11/2021 19:12

I’m an older old bag and I definitely don’t want any more ‘stuff’. I don’t want clothes I haven’t chosen, either. If I don’t like whatever it is, I can never bring myself to tell the donor.

One thing I did really like was a few months of letterbox flowers from a dd.

Or go and do a shop for the food bank, on my behalf. You could make a list of what you bought, and add a bar of chocolate - that’d do fine.

Experiences are often a good choice for older people who already have too much stuff.
I'm in my 60s, and would be v disappointed with girly crap like cosmetics/perfume/jewellery, but was very chuffed when my DDs bought me an hour's track training with a racing driver!
I used to regularly do 110mph when on emergency call to the hospital, and my DDs wrote on the card "Now you can do it legally!".
Non petrolhead mums might enjoy theatre/cinema vouchers, a restaurant meal, a balloon ride, a flying lesson, a spa treatment etc. Lots of choice out there!

My dad is notoriously difficult to buy for. I found on a local Facebook group a lady who does retro postcard style prints of the town him and my mum live in so I've bought one and framed it (checked with mum first re where it would go and she was a big fan).

My mum wanted a pillow for between her knees at night and a puzzle, so that's what she's got!

An Over 60s membership to Picturehouse Cinemas if you have one locally is brilliant.

You get 4 films with the membership, then excellent discounts to other films, and regular invites to free previews. I have seen 3 film previews for free since April, for example. And discount in the cafe / bar.

My dad is in his 70s and for his last birthday I got him a Japanese gardening tool. They are fab for gardeners, they are like a narrow trowel, have depth markers on and a sharp knife edge.

Christmas for both my parents will be a lovely painting on timber to go outside on their terrace.

Sometimes we do books or music. I got them historic houses membership one year which went down well.

Redsquirrel5 · 20/11/2021 10:41

Take me out for lunch and spend some time together.
Day out at historic house or garden.
Something for the garden. A lovely pot. Magazine subscription.
Pot filled with spring bulbs to go at the door.
Bread maker.
Voucher for steam train.
Voucher for steamer( we live not far from the Lakes).
Voucher for the hairdresser.
Bowl of hyacinths, M&S ones are always good.
