So I need to buy 4 gifts for people I don't know. Ideas please! About £25 - £50 per gift but can stretch to more. Have to be physical gifts, not vouchers.

  1. Pyjamas suitable for breastfeeding but I don't know the person's size and can't find out, so excellent returns policy is needed.
  1. Something for a recently bereaved couple.
  1. Candle
  1. Something for a lady (I'd estimate 40s) She likes elephants.

That's all I know! Sounds ridiculous but there's reasons Wink

This doorstop for the elephant lady www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-elephant-doorstop/p3341872 ?

For the bereaved couple, a simple silver photo frame?

I would go Diptyque for the candle (assuming they want a scented one) either feu de bois or pomander given the time of year.

  1. I have my eye on this loungewear set for when I have my baby. www.seraphine.com/en-gb/maternity-loungewear-set/
It’s currently 20% off for Black Friday but the returns window is only 30 days so you might want to get it a little bit closer to the time.
  1. Maybe a nice hamper with some delicious treats and a pretty photo frame.
  1. Diptyque have the most beautiful Christmas candles this year. If you want something slightly less festive then Byredo (‘treehouse’ or ‘biblioteque’) smell amazing. If you’d like something slightly cheaper then the White Company candles are nice and have some festive scents.
  1. I love this make-up bag www.elizabethscarlett.com/collections/conservation-collection-elephants/products/elephant-coral-velvet-wash-bag?variant=39412736458841
If you were feeling generous you could put one of the mini Christmas gift sets from BodyShop/Loccitaine, a nice hand cream, or a Molton Brown Bauble inside.

Why are you buying presents for people you don't know? That's mad.

Who are these people?

FearlessSwiftie · 19/11/2021 06:02

A set of scented candles would be nice, I think, could also be a set of aroma wax or an oil set maybe?
For the elephant lover could be sleepers or a picture calendar with images of the most rare elephants, could be a homemade calendar or see if local printing stores do that. Here is also a nice elephant tea mug.

I wore standard button down pyjamas for breastfeeding. Next and M&S are both good, slight preference for Next because their trousers have pockets. Would assume both have good returns!

You call it mad. I call it nice.

These people have been nominated by other people as needing a little extra TLC this Christmas for various reasons. I'm part of a voluntary group that then gives the gifts.

Last year our target nominees were elderly people likely to be alone at Christmas, we invited them to Christmas lunch, gave presents, supported them to church, delivered lunch if they preferred etc.

The year before it was asylum seekers.

I also do stuff with the food bank and other charities and volunteer groups.

I love giving at Christmas, so it's totally selfish, not for 'points'!

And thanks for the other suggestions. I'm looking in to stuff now.
