Any shower steamer recommendations?

Hello!

I thought of buying some shower steamers for my mum who now can’t use her bath and was saying what she misses most is the lovely bath bits and pampering. Does anyone have any recommendations for good ones? She’s more a fan of lively scents than the lavender/sleepy ones but other than that I’m pretty easy.
Many thanks!

I’ve bought DP some from Over The Moon Scents. I’ve got him the breath easy and cool down. They do several types including Early Riser which are supposed to help energy levels I’ve also seen Be Happy for uplifting mood.
I’ve also bought some bath bombs as gifts, smell good and are nicely boxed

I’ve bought a load from Bubble and Bathe. I haven’t tried them as they are are gift but they smell lovely!

How come she can't use her bath? Is it because of mobility issues?

maldivemoment · 16/11/2021 17:54

Definitely recommend Bubble & Bathe (etsy)

DixiePeach · 16/11/2021 19:40

I’ve also ordered from b&b after recommendation on here. They arrived yesterday and smell lovely. Also ordered a bath fizzer with a crystal inside for a teen.

I ordered some too after seeing them on the Xmas thread for DS’s girlfriend or something! They just eve wondering why they’re suddenly so busy Grin

Only one issue. I don’t actually know what they are BlushGrin. How do they work?

RaisedByPangolins · 16/11/2021 19:59

The shower steamers I mean, not bath fizzers!

PandaP0p · 16/11/2021 20:05

I can't recommend a shower steamer but some other pampering bird could include ..

The Jo Malone vitamin e body scrub. It's expensive but such a treat

L'Occitane shea shower oil - absolutely amazing - very luxurious

Grow gorgeous scalp mask

Sanctuary Spa shower foam

So I know not what you've asked for but would for the bill for pampering bits and pieces

Newdad19 · 16/11/2021 21:03

Just made a big order and covered a few gifts off - thanks for that

Jules0702 · 16/11/2021 23:36

@DixiePeach Did you also order the bath fizzed with a crystal from B&B?

AluckyEllie · 16/11/2021 23:57

Thanks so much for the recommendations- I’ve gone with bath and bathe. Yes, it’s mobility issues that mean she can’t use the bath- we’re looking into getting one of seat things that lower in. @PandaP0p I’ve gone for the almond shower oil by l’occitane and a scalp mask looks good, I hadn’t thought of that because she has short hair but it’s a good call. Glad other people found this helpful too 😀 .we’re all going to have lovely smelling relatives!

OP I am sorry but I'd advise caution with shower oils - very slippy. My mum would no way use one.

OldTinHat · 17/11/2021 00:09

I make my own. Very simple and you can find recipes online. Might be an idea?

DixiePeach · 17/11/2021 05:09

Yes my bath bomb is from bubble and bathe. It’s got a crystal inside and thought that was perfect for my DD who has taken a recent interest in crystals.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 17/11/2021 08:39

Also wondering what these are!

PandaP0p · 17/11/2021 09:16

@AluckyEllie someone has pointed out that shower oils are skippy and this is of course correct but only partially

The L'Occitane oils turn to a milk on the skin and they won't turn the shower into a slick. Exercise caution of course but they aren't a death trap or anything.

Just to reassure you!

PandaP0p · 17/11/2021 09:16

@slippy! Not skippy 😜

CoffeeChocolateWine · 17/11/2021 09:43

@RaisedByPangolins @Snoopsnoggysnog, shower steamers are a bit like bath bombs for people who prefer showers. When running the shower you put a shower steamer in (away from the direct flow of the water) and they slowly dissolve and make your shower smell lovely!

I say this as someone who never used them but this is my understanding!

Just reading comments about the shower oils making the shower slippery…can anyone who has used shower steamers comment on whether they leave any kind of residue/slipperiness at all?

RaisedByPangolins · 17/11/2021 10:52

Thanks coffee! I had imagined there would be instructions on them but I couldn’t see anything

CoffeeChocolateWine · 17/11/2021 11:10

@RaisedByPangolins, were yours from Bubble & Bathe? Mine have a little card inside the box with instructions.

RaisedByPangolins · 17/11/2021 11:45

Yes they were. Will have a proper dig around in the box, thank you
