These are a tradition on our house. Started by my parents when I was little. Always used to be books. Fast forward and last couple of years I've bought personalised socks and personalised coasters. Stumped this year. Guests in 30's, 60's, 80's and 90's.
Any suggestions? One size fits all would be great. Budget around £5 pp men and women.

I did games once one year, then we played them all after dinner.

But I had more children to buy for so card games eg Uno etc are possibly a bit more affordable than for adults.

Scratch cards & chocolate?

Alcoholic miniatures

Key rings

Amaryllis bulbs? Waitrose have them for £5 each.
Montezumos chocolates.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tend to do lottery tickets and chocolate. May look at puzzle books although oldies do them everyday! Guess it's difficult to do one size fits all every year.

I did scratch cards and Chocolate in mini sacks last year, I might do the scratch cards again this year but won't bother with the chocolate. I did fill your own crackers and might combine the two this year.

I was just about to start a thread on this. Ideally I like things that can be used at the table in between courses.

Ive done nail art kits, lego mini figures, a little wooden puzzle cube, a once a day sudoku paper cube, a pack of cards with tv show printed on one side, Rubik's cube type game, a pack of pinball game coasters.

I'm tempted to get matchbox games from Marvling Bros as they look so cute (eg these: inamatchbox.com/collections/christmas/products/village-scene-matchstick-puzzles-alternative-christmas-cracker-set ). But trying to resist as we don't currently have that tradition and not sure I should commit myself to that extra expense every year!

Crackers and Bad Santa. Then you don’t have to spend £5/head and it’s really fun!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/11/2021 19:00

Alcphol miniatures for DD and DH
Sweets for DS and me

Lottery Scratchcard each ( with the caveat that if someone wins big it is shared . Anything under £100 they keep)

Doidontimmm · 17/11/2021 20:48

@Etinoxaurus what’s bad Santa?

Etinoxaurus · 17/11/2021 21:46

Happy Sigh. My favourite part of Christmas. Set a small budget/ encourage regifting or charity shop; here are the copied rules:
This game, once again, has everyone involved bringing in a present that falls within a spending limit. All members get assigned a number. The person who has number one gets to pick from the pile and opens a present. The next person chooses a present to open and can either choose to keep their gift or switch with the first person. The third person does the same thing. Opens a present and can either keep the present or switch with anyone who has gone before hand. This keeps going until all the presents have been opened. Having the last number is best, as you have the chance to steal from all others who have gone before you and get the gift you really want.
Ours inevitably include a misjudged book which was given 20 years ago, Lynx africa charity shop teapots etc and naice biscuits and teabags.

These are wonderful. Just trying to match them to my family!

Love the idea of bad Santa! Not quite sure that my dad (90) would appreciate the jokeConfused
