Hi all, I’m looking for some options for Childrens stockings - either chocolate bombs, spoons or stirrers.l for hot chocolate.

All the options I’ve found so far are fairly pricey and not from brands I recognise so I’m not sure on quality/appeal to picky teenagers.

Does anyone have any good options they can share?

Could you just buy the bits and pieces and make up your own? Like a jar each with layers inside of hot choc powder, marshmallows, chocolate buttons, that sort of thing?

Mine aren’t keen on the stirrers or bombs and we’ve had a fair few. They liked the mallow toppers and mug hugger biscuits though. Think they were from B&M or home bargains.

In our house we normally use fairly basic hot chocolate powder (Galaxy or Cadbury’s) and then make it amazing with gourmet marshmallows. Look out for Marsh and Mallow salted caramel marshmallows in supermarkets.
These Starbucks hot chocolate sachets are pricey but amazing!

My children prefer twinings hot chocolate and mini marshmallows. The stirrers are rubbish, the never liked them.

A good brand for this stuff though is Chococo.

Sainsbury’s currently have hot chocolate bombs with marshmallows inside, for £1.50 each.

Google slow cooker hot chocolate. We do this every year now and my teenagers absolutely love it! I then get Marshmallows, cream, chocolate powder as toppers.

TK Maxx always has some sweet bits that could work near the tills.

Whittards used to do various flavour hot chocs which were great.

Aldi have hot chocolate bombs shaped like unicorns snowmen, and penguins.

DDs go to topping is Spray cream and Marshmallows, with maybe some chocolate sprinkles.

Thanks all for your great tips, taking them all on board!

It's not a hot chocolate bomb but I reckon the best hot chocolate is just made with grated dark chocolate - the nicer the chocolate the better the outcome. So unless you keep squirty cream etc at home normally (so it wouldn't be a treat), I reckon I would get some of that, marshmallows and then use a food processor to grate a load of decent quality dark chocolate and present it nicely. You could even grate different sorts like a bit of a tasting set? It also makes a great sprinkle for the top of the hot chocolate.

Also stroopwafel to put on top then eat when gooey - get from
Supermarkets

Disaronno.

My dc used to all get a whittards hot chocolate tub (the white one was the favourite) in their stockings along with a giant tub of their mini marshmallows (they were rubbish!), now they all prefer the hotel chocolat sachets of actual grated chocolate so they’ll all be getting a box of those instead this year. Expensive, I think they’re around £15 for a box of 10 sachets but one of those with squirty cream, marshmallows and a flake is a perfect post school treat on a Friday!

I stay clear of the individually wrapped marshmallow toppers because they don't taste nice. I buy gourmet type and cut them up, much nicer.

If you decide to go ahead with jar kits do consider Twinings Swiss, it's fabulous.
