Present ideas for 3 month old

I need some present ideas for my little girl, she will be just over 3 months at christmas.
So far I've got her a sit me up seat and a sensory box, but I really can't think of anything else!
I'm happy to buy toys that she can also use as she grows so anything up to 6-9 months would be good too!

What about a jumperoo or a soft ball pit?

Prettypennies · 12/11/2021 11:32

A nice teddy such as a jellycat? Rattle socks were a big hit with mine too.

WhatonEarth1 · 12/11/2021 17:09

Ewan the Dream Sheep
Foot finders and wrist rattles
Fisher Price butterfly dreams projection mobile
Lamaze Freddie Firefly pushchair toy

Definitely a good idea to atart thinking ahead for the next 9 months until their birthday, so maybe a crawl away ball, a ball pit or some teething toys.
Books like the usborne "thats not my" are lovely too.

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 12/11/2021 17:46

Put money in a bank account for her!

Definitely a jumperoo if you don’t already have one, the most enjoyed piece of equipment from say 4-9mo for most babies I know.

mandoforever · 12/11/2021 18:06

Following this with interest as I have a baby to buy for.
Are jumperoos considered ok for babies, I read something saying they weren't good for babies hips?

Cravingcake · 13/11/2021 14:57

A helium balloon in a box.
A couple of hard back books.
A bottle of bubble bath.

Other than that if you need to bulk up the gifts pile then the next size baby grows/pyjamas/clothes.

Money into a bank account.

Some sensory books? 'That's not my....'

Fresh01 · 13/11/2021 17:56

A Xmas stocking with their name on it - ours still use theirs and eldest is 16.

A tree bauble with their name and year of birth.

Bath toys as they do go mouldy with time.

Highchair suction toys that stick on to the highchair tray.

Books A hardback and the ones with different textures.

A big baby seat for an outdoor swing. Ours loved that from 4 months or so.

You don’t need to buy much as they will get so much from others. But put money aside for the bigger toys they need around 9 months as they start to move and stand.

Agree with the suggestion of a stocking or a santa sack she can use for future Christmases.

Other than that just get her things you would already buy her such as books, bath toys or clothes. If then put the money you didn't spent to one side and use it to buy stuff throughout the year. You'll be able to pick up some great bargains after Christmas when people are clearing out unwanted or unplayed with toys.

The jumparoo is a great shout but she won't be using it at Christmas so it will just take up room and it's much easier to buy one second hand that's already been built when she actually needs it.

@SinkingSwim Aldi are selling their fabric ball pots as of today online today. They are so cheap compared to others

PrimeraVez · 14/11/2021 10:00

My DD will be 3 months at Christmas. I’ve got her:

  • Jumperoo
  • Bumbo seat
  • Sensory balls
  • silicone suction plate for weaning
  • high chair toy
  • bibs for weaning
  • snack pot got weaning
  • swim ring (we live in a hot country and swim a lot)
  • musical teddy thing
  • ‘That’s not my…’ books
  • soft stacking cubes

Obviously a lot of this will sit in a cupboard for a while yet - it was more about her older brothers seeing her have stuff to open.

Newdad19 · 14/11/2021 10:17

@PrimeraVez we are the exact same with this being more about our babies elder siblings!

They're terrible for developing hips, my baby had hip dysplasia and it was drummed into me by so many professionals that no baby (with healthy hips or otherwise) should use anything that allows unnatural movement. Their hips are not ready at such a young age for jumping
WTFUterus · 14/11/2021 11:22

Musical instruments, tambourine, maracas etc
Stacking cups/blocks
Any Lamaze toy
At 3 months it won't be long until they enjoy fiddling with things, you can get sensory balls or bags with buttons, zips, string

mandoforever · 14/11/2021 12:58

Thank you @WTFUterus.
