DD will be 15 months - I feel like it's an awkward age because there are lots of things she'll love soon but probably not quite be ready for. And I'm happy to spend less at Christmas and then buy things through the year as she reaches the right age. But would love any ideas - what did yours love at that age?

List so far from us and family is:

Shape sorter safari truck thing
A bag of plastic fruit and veg - I'll get a basket to put this in. She loves to sort stuff!
A couple of bath toys
Board books
One of the Little Tikes plastic rocking horses
Finger paints

I know she doesn't need more than this but I also feel like she's had the same toys for ages and getting bored of many of them so would love some new ideas

Soft rubber blocks with numbers on - absolutely his favourite toy at that age

Board books for sure - the Priddy 'first 100' ones were really popular

Stacking cups

Pegs, stones, leaves and other garden detritus :)

Wooden kitchen or other wooden role play stuff - the Melissa and Doug ice cream set is great and will last years.

I agree with buying stuff she will love in 6 months time rather than stuff she has already been interested in for 6 months and will grow out if soon.

Mine will be 15m as well. I have got a lot of stuff that's considered 18m+ and even 2+ as long as there's no tiny bits like I've bought duplo, dolls, play doh etc. If I need to put some stuff aside to new year I don't mind but I think she will be fine x

Ds is 18 months.

He’s been playing with duplo since his birthday so that would be a hit

It’s a good age for happyland and we had the leapfrog ice cream cart from 18 months which was very popular straight out of the box.

Mine was 15 months last Christmas. Biggest hits were a toy farm and a ride on car (he wasn't walking at Christmas and used this as a walker).

Actually if I'm honest biggest hit was a light up ball that I got for £1, which amazingly is still going strong!

Ours were 16 months last Christmas and we got them a Baby Shark ‘tablet’ each. Like this but one is bilingual so, although they look similar, they function differently!

Pinkfong Baby Shark 61069 WowWee Pinkfong Tablet - Educational Preschool Toy www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07NH1PVL1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_WXQRK0JZTVQKTR7M4TS8?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

We also got them a scuttlebug each, new pyjamas and clothes as well as some wooden toys.

This year they’re getting a table and chairs from IKEA, a light box thing (BeebeeRun Drawing Board 2 in 1... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082VPNRCG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)&tag=mumsnetforu03-21 some books plus toy story characters

Honestly? When we had a similar aged Christmas, I took advice from a friend and packed a massive box (think appliance or similar) with inflated balloons and wrapped it in Christmas paper. He didn't care what he was opening and loved all the balloons. There were a few other items but that was the centerpiece.

Save money for future Christmases Grin

Mine had the same birthday/Christmas gap, so instead of much for Christmas, we bought things when she was little for Easter instead - outdoorsy things which she made great use of and split the cost rather than having lots for birthday and Christmas close together.
