What are yours? Am making a list:

Crackers
M&S pre folded napkins
Tealights
Foil roasting tray for turkey

Having a massive brain fart and can't think if there's anything I've missed

M&S Christmas toilet roll, the one with the scented middle
Christmas hand soaps by the sinks
Christmas kitchen roll

Got wrapping paper and bags from last year. Hoping I've got enough to not have to buy this year. Also saved the stripey Primark bag I got this week for wrapping purposes

One of those tape dispenser things that you strap to your wrist. Made wrapping 10 times easier last year!

Method of wrapping for any shortfall in our current stash, cards and postage stamps if you send them. Batteries.

It's become a bit of a traditional family joke that there will be a new scouring pad!!

One new ornament is also a tradition!

starfishmummy · 09/11/2021 12:21

Oh and I always buy myself a new book (or two) to read over the holiday period in case no one else gets me one. Probably a kindle one.

Chippymunks · 09/11/2021 12:22

Wrapping paper and cellotape.

ponkydonkey · 09/11/2021 12:23

Just reminded me about gold dinner candles 😀

Chippymunks · 09/11/2021 12:25

Napkins.

Iseeyoulookingatme · 09/11/2021 14:29

Bin bags, toilet paper, Christmas music

Squirrelblanket · 09/11/2021 15:12

Not particularly Christmassey but I always make sure I'm well stocked with the basics. Toilet roll, kitchen roll, bin bags, dishwasher tablets, painkillers etc. The stuff which is really annoying if you realise you're out of them on Christmas Day!

Sn0tnose · 09/11/2021 17:18

Alarm set on your phone if there’s anything that is going to need defrosting and to remind you to take plates out for warming. Plus extra bin bags, recycling bags and caddy bags for peelings. And an emergency box of chocolates that have been wrapped in case of an unexpected guest bearing gifts.

Stamps
Sticky tape
Tin foil tray for the turkey
Tin foil to cover the turkey and for leftovers
An empty plastic bottle to pour leftover cooking fat into
Kitchen roll
Washing up liquid/scourers/dishwasher tablets
Freshly washed oven gloves (mine are currently shameful)
Loads of clean tea towels
Table cloth/napkins/table runner/place mats
Ice cubes
Batteries
Matches for candles etc
Pain killers/Oragel (if anyone is going to get toothache, it will be at 6pm Christmas Eve)
Febreze stain remover
Salt & pepper
Tea, coffee, sugar & sweetener
A working bottle opener
TV guide
Knowing the location of tiny screwdriver/tweezers and Allen keys if battery slots are screwed shut or if anything needs assembling

Most important is knowing the location and Christmas Day opening hours of the nearest local shop in the event of a food related emergency.

birkenstocks4ever · 09/11/2021 19:37

Thanks all. My list is now considerably longer!

For me - lots of the above but also a smart speaker - programmed on Christmas Eve with all the timings for the Christmas meal, stops me clock watching!
