Unusual Stocking filler ideas for 15 year old boy

PollyWobbles · 08/11/2021 20:38

Anyone got anything different that I can consider?

He has toiletries, aftershave, toothbrushes, sweets, drinks, etc etc as a daily thing and I wouldn't put these in a stocking so I'm looking for unusual and quirky things.

He's a big gamer but has a full set up including lights, funko pops, etc

Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions for me that I'd not considered

Thanks

Light up key ring
Torch
Playing cards
Water bottle
Pen knife
Bottle opener
Gaming magazine
Not quirky at all but just some ideas. I’m also at a loss for my soon to be 16 year old boy.

What about those like puzzle fidget toy things, like a wee box that you have to work out how to open? Do you know what I mean?!

These cute cups have appeared on my FB timeline and will be going in my teens' stockings. I have nothing to do with this company. Just thought they were unusual. thewavycompany.com/products/wavy-mug

I bought my ds a flint fire lighting thing for his birthday. It was the envy of all of my grown up kids and their mates!

It was like this one.

I always get my kids a tube of Pringles and a full fat coke too.

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 08/11/2021 21:55

I got ds(15) a Swiss Army knife for his birthday present recently, which was very well received. Ds1 liked a certain brand of boxers, so they appeared in his stocking every year. Socks, not quite novelty ones but funky / quirky designs. Water bottle or travel cup. Gift card (just eat or Amazon or Costa maybe). Fidget toy.

SnarkyBag · 08/11/2021 21:57

I always get DS a 1kg box of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes. Started as a bit of a joke because he used to whinge about the small box of Aldi branded cereal I buy and has stuck.

SnarkyBag · 08/11/2021 21:58

Have extended it now into a “branded” hamper of all the treats we usually buy own brand of.

Poppiesway1 · 08/11/2021 22:01

A little survival kit.. Mines convinced the apocalypse is coming with C19 and the current crisps shortages Hmm

I don't get to go to Ikea very often, but spotted these for my 20 something sons last time I was there.

There are some really good survival kits and army rations online, which can be fun. I have generally found that after hours of searching for great gifts, my teens are happy with pop and sweets, and maybe a lottery ticket!

BlueChampagne · 10/11/2021 12:29

These have become a staple in ours www.niftynutbutters.com/

GlomOfNit · 10/11/2021 13:04

Keep them coming! Grin

My son's nearly 14 but fairly atypical - doesn't like music, gaming aside from Minecraft, still very much into Star Wars lego (which is £££s) and Warhammer, likes the idea of outdoorsy stuff like firelighters etc but rarely can be arsed to shift outside Hmm, isn't remotely interested in 'grooming' (or indeed showering) so any toiletries etc are going to be greeted with the Bewildered and Sad Face. Might still put a bottle of apple-smelling shampoo in there, he bloody needs it.

I'm thinking this year of geeky Star Wars-related stuff from online (things like a 'Light Side/Dark Side' decal for his wall light switch), the odd Star Wars minifigure that apparently he NEEDS for army building, the odd pot of Warhammer paint, maybe some sort of outdoorsy gadget for his DofE he's soon starting ... the usual new underwear and a chocolate orange/tube of Jelly Tots. A book or two. He has all the stainless steel straws a boy could possibly use. Grin

Not2daySatan · 10/11/2021 13:21

Have you looked at iwantoneofthose.com They have lots of gamer things aimed at teens

Peach2021 · 10/11/2021 13:29

A bit OTT for a stocking budget (at least in this house!) but have a look at www.foreverspin spinning tops...I'm looking forward to DS being old enough for one of these Grin

dunkaccino · 10/11/2021 13:45

I always put a toy in - something like shithead where you throw poos at each other's velcro hat, or the balls on two strings that you can whizz to each other. Tiny table tennis for the dinner table - it's the only day of the year that they'll play with 'toys' other than outdoor sports stuff. We got a nerf gun range with air-suspended balls to shoot, that was good for a giggle.

JuneOsborne · 10/11/2021 13:46

Have you checked out present indicative. They have some cool stuff.

PollyWobbles · 10/11/2021 13:51

Thanks for the suggestions.

I am going to add in a Costa gift card I think. I have bought some decent slipper socks and I'm quite drawn to the Forever Spin!

It's made slightly trickier because this is a boy who has everything. He's extremely fortunate. He has a big hamper in his games room which is always stocked with sweets and crisps and a fridge filled with drinks so adding these bits to a stocking don't have any impact if that makes sense

He also has strip lights, thumb grips, gaming bits etc etc

But the stocking so far comprises of ...

Slipper socks
Boss body spray
Hotel chocolat chocolate flakes
Eau savage soap

And I'll add on the costa card and possibly a forever spin if I'm feeling generous

And that is quite enough!

Trainer deodorizers, e.g. Shoe Ninja from Amazon, or you can ones in different shapes like bananas (not insinuating your DC had smelly feet!)

Optical illusion desk toy - loads on Amazon.

Look at Grand Illusions website - not sure how to describe their MO, sort of geeky/magicky/puzzle things.

"Would you rather" book teen version or other silly book.

Kerplunkk · 10/11/2021 18:43

Second a flint and steel for lighting fires.
Victorinox do a child friendly penknife, the blade tip is rounded, comes with a lanyard and chain too.
Menkind have some little bits in that appeal to that age group.

Hadalifeonce · 10/11/2021 18:44

DH bought DS a pack of odd socks last year. He thought they were great.
