Hi all.
I want to be a good mummy this year and get the kids an advent calendar before the middle of December.
I have identified some which would be good, but i can’t get them all from the same place.
I want a playmobil nativity and a bic along with some fairtrade chocolate ones.

The bic is £19:99 at w h smith, free delivery options start at £20, but i can’t get the other stuff there. Or anything else I want.
I went into a w h smith and they said a lot of their stuff is online only.
I’m losing the will here. Somebody gee me up and tell me it’s really worth it.
Or share your frustration so I don’t feel alone.
(Can’t whinge too much in front of the kids)
Thanks! Star

Oh I hate that when you’re 1p away from free delivery. They don’t even sell chocolate bars online to get it free. What about some gift tags, they’ve got to be cheaper than the delivery?

Of course it’s worth it, imagine their little faces when they see them 😁

This... I actually complained to one company that I was 1p short of their discount code and they allowed it.

One that has really pissed me off was a online 'poundshop' type store that did a bunch of stuff I wanted but you needed a minimum order of £40 to place an order.

No matter how much stuff I added (even adding in just daily stuff I would normally buy at Asda to make up the difference) I just couldn't hit the £40 minimum.

Stupid really because there was £24 worth of stuff I wanted and I added in like £7 worth of random extras too so they lost £24-£31 worth of business.

Looking on WHSmiths you could get a pencil sharpener for £0.44 or a small tab calendar for £0.59.

Would be cheaper than the £2.99 postage + both could be useful.

Thanks for this, yes! Their little faces!

A Pencil sharpener is a GREAT idea, i do like a sharp pencil.

Gift tags is a good idea, but I always buy mine in the Jan sales, so might go with the pencil sharpener idea. In fact I could definitely use a rubber too.

Ok I can do this.
I was thinking of sacking bic off and seeing if paperchase have any left and at least I can shop there in person, and I like their diaries (wh smith don’t seem to do one with a week on one page and notes on the facing page)

Paperchase is £28!!!!
I think not.
Where can I get the playmobil one from?

Ok i have saved £7 ish by ordering the playmobil on amazon instead of direct from playmobil. I don’t like amazon, but they offered free delivery.

I don't like Amazon either but when they're cheaper than elsewhere what can you do 🤷‍♀️

Igneo · 07/11/2021 19:48

Stormy is that the one that takes you straight to amazon?
