Having to get up and start the dinner all morning, then sort the seating, then dish it up, by which time I am not even hungry anymore, the clear it all up etc etc...... while DH plays with the kids all day and drinks beer?

Anyone, or am I just a doormat or something?

Would like to know, that's all.
It's a lot of work laying Christmas on single handedly.

BahHunkerBug · 10/12/2007 00:37

ChristmasSendsMePsycho · 10/12/2007 00:38

ShinyHappyStarOfBethlehem · 10/12/2007 00:40

"..it's all a gigantic pain in the flaps..." [fgrin [splutter]

Where's the quote of the week thread someone..? I need to nominate LordVenger for that one...

VVVExcitedAboutChristmasQV · 10/12/2007 00:41

this is quite scary.....

Well, the man behind the cushion......

ChristmasSendsMePsycho · 10/12/2007 00:41

hunker...sniggering with towel in mouth to muffle noise

that piccie needs to have no hair then would be closer (on head obviously)

re back hair....nope not yet, i shave it for him at the moment. if it gets much more tho he will be going for waxing cos the men at work take the piss rather a lot at the fact that he so hairy everywhere but his head

tis rather like gravity took hold and sucked said hair downwards......

ChristmasSendsMePsycho · 10/12/2007 00:45

QV....that cadburys spoof is bloody fab

tis mr psycho's fave ad at the mo i think he would seriously LOVE that one!!!

(as would the psycho babies)

VVVExcitedAboutChristmasQV · 10/12/2007 00:46

ooh is he a hairy back mary?

ChristmasSendsMePsycho · 10/12/2007 00:50

nah......not quite that bad....and don't forget....he is bald, so the freaky hair is not an issue.

plus, his hair is lightish brown and he is permanantly (sp?) brown from working outdoors most of him life so it doesn't really show up as awful......only when you run your hands down his back

chest hair another matter entirely.....very dark!!!very lots!!

VVVExcitedAboutChristmasQV · 10/12/2007 00:56

yikes!

Dont google "bald hairy man"

ChristmasSendsMePsycho · 10/12/2007 01:00

intrigued now....or is it that scary????

LadyOfTheFlowersXmasName · 10/12/2007 17:56

Meanwhile, back at the ranch......

You lot are nuts! LOL

Think I will try anf prepare all I can the night before, maybe blanch and freeze the veg, buy some ready done 'sling in the oven in tray' roast potatoes (not very good I know but saves me peeling the b@stard things!) etc etc.

Kids are 1 and 2 so all they will be helping with is trashing the place more!

Last year (whilst preg. with DS2 but didn't know) I consumed the best part of a Ltr of Baileys whilst doing the dinner, then ate it, then fell asleep, then washed up and all that crap once I had woken up.

Will MAKE dh do it methinks!

lADY,WHY IS YOUR DH SUCH A LAZY twat then and why do you put up with it?

PrincessSnowLife · 10/12/2007 18:06

PMSL (PFHYCh) at moondog!!!

moondog · 10/12/2007 18:11

But it's true PSL!

(Love your acronym!)

LadyOfTheFlowersXmasName · 10/12/2007 18:12

I know Moon.
I don't generally put up with any other crap from him, just seems easier to do things myself as then I know it has been done properly!

He goes thru phases. He might come home from work one night then go mad and clean the whole house top to bottom, which is fine. This happens about twice a month.

I know, that's why I laughed so much (and bilingually too, which of course doubles the impact!!).

Ladyoftheflowers, I hear what you are saying though. Could you train him up a bit?

moondog · 10/12/2007 18:17

Ha ha

ChristmasSendsMePsycho · 10/12/2007 19:01

soory for the hijack and silliness.

my psycho tho is still smarting over the name calling tho.

glad you thinking of ways of making things easier for yourself, altho I get the DC's ages would kind of cause more hindrance than help with helping .

anothe tip......make a list of all the jobs that need doing on xmas day to ensure it runs smoothly, and then tell everyone/ask everyone if they would all mind choosing (at least) one each to do and then tick it off once done.
