Are LOL Dolls still popular with your 6-8 year olds?

Every Christmas I donate presents to a charity who distribute toys to children who have an incarcerated parent. The said parent provides the charity their child's age and rough interest. The charity then sends the gift on the parent's behalf along with a handwritten note the parent has provided.

I've received a note for a young child who likes LOL Dolls. I know they were the rage a couple of years back but current toy trends seemed to have moved on in the young children I know. It can be some years since a parent has talked about toy interests with their child so sometimes they do not always have the most up to date interests. Does your 6-8 year old still enjoy LOL Dolls or if they did, what have they moved onto now?

If the request is for that, I’d go with it tbh. The child may not have had them at the time, maybe stick something else in that’s small and trendy (those blasted poppit things seem to be everywhere!)

My almost 6 year old has requested an LOL themed birthday party and only LOL dolls from Santa this year Hmm😂 she has just been to a 6 year olds birthday party who’s presents were also half LOL dolls. They’re always bringing out new ones, I hear the colour changing ones are all the rage now.

Yes, to my eternal despair.

Mine is still OBSESSED with them. Rainbow High dolls are newer and similar to OMG dolls. Might be safe. Or, you could find out how much she likes them by asking if there is one specific one she'd like that you could help her 'adopt'. By adopt I mean pay silly money for an ultra rare one off eBay.

My DD is 7 and is still asking for an LOL doll for Christmas, so agree, I’d that’s what has been asked for then I would go with it. Although I do take your point about children’s interested changing quickly. If you didn’t get what was asked for, and the child was upset then you would feel awful.

My 6 year old still plays with lol dolls. She's not asked for as many as last year but still wants some.

My 8 year old loved them ages 4-6 and then seemed to grow out of them. But we just had her LOL dollshouse out the basement to sell and she wanted to play with it again and since it's now only worth about £20 second hand (it cost £180!) We agreed not to sell it and we'd donate as soon as she lost interest. But all the friends age 6-9 she has had round recently all have made a beeline for it and have told me they love LOL's and they are getting LOL things for Christmas.

Judging by the massive displays in the shops, yes. As our barbies, Our Generation, Lego Friends, Slyvanians and other similar toys.

I’d stick to LOL if you’ve been told they like them. I’ve noticed they’re still bringing out new ranges so they must be fairly popular. My 8yo has never been into them but she loves the Rainbow High and Our Generation dolls.

Thanks all, I think I'll stick to LOL Dolls then. PP's made a good point about them still being a large range in shops/ promotional banners on the shop's front web page so they're clearly very popular still. Plus they fit very well into the suggested spend of £15.
