I'm stuck for ideas for presents for Dnephews this year so thinking of buying a joint present.

They are 2, 5 & 8 and budget would be around 150.

Any ideas?

Smart paddling pool or big garden toy?

Hockeyboysmum · 09/10/2021 13:19

Annual membership to somewhere (obviously check with parents)

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 09/10/2021 13:20

I was thinking trampoline but they are a bit pricier

It's a pretty big age range for a joint present-

with that budget you could get each a nice individual gift?

TamponSupport · 09/10/2021 13:28

With those ages you could go for a large Lego or Playmobil set as a joint gift and a smaller, related individual set so they each have something for themselves.

Dinosauraddict · 09/10/2021 13:31

I would go with family membership for a local attraction

Why don’t you start a new tradition and take them to see the panto or something?

Legoisthebest · 09/10/2021 19:13

That's too much of a mix of ages really. What will interest an 8 year old will not interest a 2 year old.
Simple answer - ask their parents what they are getting them this year and get something that matches. As in if the 8 year old is getting a large Lego set, you get one of the smaller sets that is from the same theme.
I much prefer gifts that 'go' with other toys that the children already have or are getting rather than a whole bunch of random mis matches.
Oh and an annual each.

Ask the parents
Annual membership
Separate presents, a 2 year old and an 8 year old do not match.

I agree it is quite an age range to buy for. Maybe something like a candy floss maker or soda stream?

17caterpillars1mouse · 09/10/2021 20:34

Yoto player and a mix of books to suit the different ages?

CoffeeChocolateWine · 09/10/2021 20:42

Hornby train set or Scalextrix maybe?

My daughters have a 6 year age gap (9 and 3) and there are plenty of things they both love. Especially small world stuff like playmobil, Lego and Sylvanians.

Or how about a football goal and ball for the garden (if they have a garden)?

CoffeeChocolateWine · 09/10/2021 20:46

Or skateboard ramps for garden (again, if they have one)…the 8yo might like to go with a skateboard and the 2yo on a scooter?

lorisparkle · 09/10/2021 20:52

We get family membership to the National Trust as a joint Christmas gift. My 3 DS love going - lots of them have play areas, den building areas, themed activities, etc. I agree though to check with parents,

One year we bought a large climbing frame, as a joint present for our boys. It has lasted them 10 years!

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 09/10/2021 22:22

I’d ask the parents. It’s so much better if your going to do something big and joint. They will know what they 1 have room for 2 know what will get used by all three boys. There maybe something the parents want to buy them but can’t justify getting so you buying it might be perfect for them.

The parents may not feel comfortable asking for something expensive so say this is my budget, I’d rather buy something you’d like me to get rather than waste the money on something they won’t use.

crumpet · 09/10/2021 22:25

Giant connect 4 /Jenga would cater for the whole age group. The 2 year old might be too you g to play the games themselves, but would enjoy playing with the pieces

Day out at a local zoo or theme park, gift them a small related toy to the present - ie - Lego/duplo animal if the trip is for the zoo.
Theatre tickets - maybe for the older ones though.
Soft play membership
National trust membership
Wildlife park membership

Chakraleaf · 11/10/2021 16:42

Annual pass for zoo or farm?
