DD just started nursery - what gesture/gift (if any) is usual for the girls/carers at the nursery? Thought I'd ask because I've spent all my life so far being oblivious to tipping hairdressers!

Last year I bought one box of chocolates for the girls in his room to share. Not sure about this year! May buy the same again and/or toy for their kids for the nursery IYKWIM?

Not sure what's right, but last year I bought very small gift sets from Boots 3 for 2, because I was very happy with their care for dd.I have done the same again this year as I feel that although I pay them my dd clearly loves being with them and its just a small token. I know that I love it when I get small gifts for just doing my job. I would make things if I could be bothered or if money was tight though.

I have taken in a tin of chocs for the staff to share through the month. I figured it'd save them having to scoff them all on the last day. DCs will be leaving at the end of the month so I will take in a bottle of wine for each of their primary carers, luckily I have loads of nice wine and don't drink. Originally I had planned to make a financial donation to the nursery (charity run project) but it's just not an option at the moment.

I took some posh biscuits from Sainsburys (the Taste the Diff ones) so it wasn't too expensive and they could share them out.

Gave them a tin of Celebrations to share and a box of Belgian chocolate in a fancy box to dd's keyworker

Nooooooooooo not chocolates do you just know how fat Nursery nurses get over Christmas!!!!!!

Sorry I used to work in a Nursery (am a CM nowadays) and chocs were more than welcome.

I thought I might go for small pampering pressies rather than chocs.........something that might help to relax after a hard day....must be exhausting....................
