My eldest DS has just turned four, and for his birthday he is having his first bike with stabilisers and some hot wheels and some slime making goodies.

I'm stumped for ideas for Christmas, what are you going to be buying for your 4 year olds?

He is into dinosaurs, volcanos, and gardening, but this all changes regularly Grin

I have a 4 y.o. ds. He has asked for wood, nails and a hammer so I'm on the lookout for something suitable!
He also loves Playmobil so will probably be getting a set plus books, games, crayons etc

Cork nail board

This is a child friendly version,. My Dad knocked a load of nails into a 2x4 and gave DS a toffee hammer and said "have at it!" which is probably the less safe version Grin

Playmobil does require building, it is supposed to be a construction toy, but once it's built you generally don't take it apart and rebuild. Often the building is tricky for the kids.

@ShushShushShush my DS would love that.

Ideas for stocking fillers:
Character Socks and underwear
Character battery operated toothbrush
Sticker book
The small scented kinetic sand ice cream cone
Different hot wheels cars(son is getting Mario and Luigi ones)
A book or magazine (rolled up)
Activity book (rolled up) such as dot the dot, find and search etc
Some coins for money box(loves putting money in his money box)
Suprise toys
Bath toys
Bubble bath or Crayola bath bomb.

Have you started off the lego collection yet?
If not I'd start with the large creative box, if budget allows I'd also get a small lego set or/and one of the polybags for stocking. He will get years out of lego and a great time to start building the collection. The little play people from sets add a lot of play value, the sets I found inspire them and great for STEM skills, although be it 10 minutes or 2 months they do end up mixed into the other legos.

Dressing up stuff is always fab (dinosaur costume maybe?), science kit (galt ones are great for that age, or maybe a dinosaur dig kit!), books, sticker books, my little loved the usborne little childrens dinosaur activity book at 4 but did need some help, playmobil.

I picked up this stocking filler for a 3 year old dinosaur fan for £4.99 from TK Maxx today.

@ShushShushShush that is brilliant, thank you!

Paw patrol, Jurassic world dinosaurs (how much £££ are they though, seriously?!), Playdoh, kinetic sand, board games, Lego, paw patrol first reader books, a new scooter, marble run, musical instruments (new live of Andy + the band!)...these are a few things my 4/nearly 5yr old DS has seen and said he'd like.

Following with interest as have a nearly four year old! Also thinking for Christmas.

Second everyone's suggestions of Lego. Mine loves his farm Lego and also enjoys playmobil (again farm).

He loves kinetic sand and will be getting him the construction set someone suggested up thread!

I'm also following for some ideas for DS who'll be 4 1/2.

I've got him a Rex for his toy story collection and a hulk soft toy. I've been looking at the Bluey sets from Smyths as he loves Bluey. Maybe the Bluey house as he has lots of characters (Mickey Mouse, PJ masks, toy story) but doesn't have any sets to put them in.

He loves hot wheel type cars so I might get him a track/garage.

He currently has some avengers characters that come with motorbikes or cars that he loves playing with. Think they are from playskool.

Just been eyeing up the Yoto. They look fab! Love the idea of being able to record ourselves/grandparents.
