Any ideas on what to buy a 15.5 year old for Christmas ?

It's an awkward age.

Obviously , tech? Air pods? Super chargers? That sort of thing?

How about room decor? Cushions? Throw? Jewellery box or holder?

Something from an eco shop? Bag? Organic cotton clothing?

Does she have a bike?

Vouchers for coffee shops/clothing/pizza restaurant/cinema?

Some form of activity present like forest zip wire, experience day at wildlife centre, riding lessons, day at adventure park?

Jewellery such as earrings or bangle (I reserved this present for when mine were 18 years).

A full set of English classic literature such as Jane Austen (you can buy some beautifully bound editions nowadays)?

Ribblechips · 13/09/2021 11:52

Forgot ...something related to a hobby? Cooking or baking? Art & design? Other crafts?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 13/09/2021 11:53

Is she your dd? Or a relative? Just asking si can tailor to budget

Cookingbynumbers · 13/09/2021 11:58

Last year all my siblings clubbed together to get some trainers that DNiece really wanted. Her parents weren’t able to get them for her so we each put in £20. Is there an expensive luxury item that she might want, a bit nicer than perhaps could normally be afforded?

enragedhedgehog · 13/09/2021 12:00

What my 16 year old daughter has on her list.

Books. And I've gotten some lovely bookmarks to go with them on Etsy.

Funko pops and nendoroids and anime figurines

Some fancier stationary.

Posters.

Video games

Manga

Jogger bottoms.

Japanese sweets.

BananaPB · 13/09/2021 12:01

Are you the parent or relative ?

Fluffypastelslippers · 13/09/2021 12:03

Digital camera?

irresistibleoverwhelm · 13/09/2021 12:10

I’d go for vouchers/gift card for a shop she can buy from online - Lisa Angel or Oliver Bonas or similar maybe?

Frostytiger87 · 13/09/2021 12:14

She’s my daughter & has too much it’s so difficult but I’d like to buy a few bits to open on Xmas day

Japanese stationery?

furbabymama87 · 13/09/2021 12:57

Lush gift set? Other than that, I'd just give vouchers.

WellTidy · 13/09/2021 13:03

At 15yo, I'd have loved a subscription to something like Glossybox (there may be more teen type stuff, but that kind of thing - you could get the first one as something for her to open on the day), a Lush gift set and maybe a voucher if funds stretch to that as well as the gift set, new stationery (different colour writing pens eg uniball), books, a new bag and something for my room eg a lamp. throw, new bedding.

GoodnightGrandma · 13/09/2021 13:04

Silk pillow case

DominicRaabsTravelAgent · 13/09/2021 22:09

Shower melts were mentioned on another thread. I'm getting my DD some, they look right up her street.

Last year she had a novelty mug, like the ones you see on Googlebox, and she still enjoys using that.

Puffinhead · 13/09/2021 22:45

@Hello1290, that’s an interesting idea though my DDs haven’t asked for these so I’d be a bit worried they’d be a bit underwhelmed by them (You got me a pillowcase?!). Where you are buying it from? They’re so expensive.

Hello1290 · 13/09/2021 22:51

I ordered one from M and S although it hasn't arrived yet so I can't comment on quality although it says 100 per cent silk on their website. It was 25 pounds - the most expensive pillowcase I have ever bought although I have seen some at twice the price so I didn't think 25 was too bad !

alrightfella · 14/09/2021 09:04

My 16yr old would be horrified by a silk pillowcase but then she is against animal cruelty

Puffinhead · 14/09/2021 20:33

Thanks Hello1290, I’m going to think about it!

Just posted on the other thread - Skinny Dip London have a sale on. Use SORRYGIFT20 to get 20% off, includes sale items too. Free delivery over £30. www.skinnydiplondon.com/. Toiletries, beauty items, accessories, clothes etc good for teen girls.

I ended up buying an Instax Mini printer and film for DD14.

shallIswim · 14/09/2021 21:57

They can be eco minded. Mine (a bit older) loves the homemade reusable make up wipes I got her (in a drawstring bag to throw in the wash). Cute! She exclaimed. And has used them all year.
Houseplant. And gorgeous pot.

What's her interests/ style/ must haves? At 15 I was a wiccan goth and my sister was incredibly feminine and girly so we wanted totally different kind of things x

foxgoosefinch · 14/09/2021 22:40

What kind of thing does she like?

At 15 I would have liked - jewellery; clothes; nice perfume; bits of upscale makeup like Chanel nail varnish; magazine subscriptions about fashion (eg Vogue) and science (eg New Scientist); books - especially things like Virago classics; fairy lights; nice stationery; and trinkets like tea lights and acrylic photo frames for my room.

Look at Sass & Belle; Oliver Bonas; Muji; Neon Sheep; Paperchase etc for stationery, fairy lights and trinkets;
Estella Bartlett, Lisa Angel, Orelia and Astrid & Miyu for jewellery;
Clothes — really depends on the brands she likes!
What about some nice soap or toiletries from TKMaxx or similar? Or eco toiletries if she’s into them?

AlexaShutUp · 14/09/2021 22:41

Lots of them are into crystals at this age.

I bought mine a wellbeing subscription box last year, which she loved. Baking subscription is quite fun too.

Clothes are always popular but it's so hard to choose. Anything from urban outfitters generally seems to go down well.

Mine loves her silk pillowcase!

Perfume is well received by dd.

Second the suggestion of house plants and fairy lights.
