"Big" present for 4 year old

Wondering if anyone can think of a big present for a 4 year old?
I mean physically large, not necessarily expensive.
She is still small enough to not understand that something small can be expensive, and her younger sister will get quite a few bulky things as she is only 18 months. I feel she might be a bit disappointed if she only has "small" things.

Does she already have a bike or a scooter? We got scooters for our two last year.

HotandHumid2021 · 11/09/2021 20:23

Dressing up? My DD got some big unicorn costume at this age, loved it

Even a big balloon, esp a helium one, will go down well at 4

Barbie dream house is also huge and horrendously expensive new but there are always loads knocking around secondhand on facebay etc - she will neither know nor care it isn't new

kymeraray · 11/09/2021 20:24

Bike is probably more expensive but we got the scooters last year from smyths- 15 pounds each! And they were so happy with them

FlashAaaahh · 11/09/2021 20:26

Play kitchen? Always loads of bargains on Facebook marketplace - kitchen plus food and pots/pans for £30 or so

FruityPolos · 11/09/2021 20:26

My daughter was almost 4 last Christmas. She got a big dolls house / castle for her Disney dolls and Barbie's, and my parents got her a dolls pram (which she pushed her new Grinch cuddly toy around in all Christmas...)

Mammaaof · 11/09/2021 20:27

My DD 4th birthday is on Tue and we've got her a silver cross double pram, and Barbie plane ( both big)

Orangedaisy · 11/09/2021 20:27

Garden slide or swing? We put swing in living room (high ceilings) for DD’s 4th birthday (feb) and it was a hit! Went in th garden later. Or furniture maybe? A big girl dressing table?

MistyFrequencies · 11/09/2021 20:27

An easel. My kids got one last Xmas and it gets so much use.

MeredithGreyishblue · 11/09/2021 20:28

Was going to say a kitchen- a few were on the Bargain Hunt pages on FB today.

Orangedaisy · 11/09/2021 20:28

We also got DD2 a toy shop. Big but not too expensive. Or perhaps a big dolls house? Maybe second hand.

My son was 4 last Christmas and he got a caravan shaped play tent from Ikea as his 'big' present which he loved/loves :)

LittleRedYoshi · 11/09/2021 20:30

Colour-in playhouse
Chalkboard easel on a stand
Space hopper (inflated)
Child-sized seat/chair for her bedroom (e.g. one of the Lesser and Pavey animal stools)

ThisIsNotAMill · 11/09/2021 20:30

An easel, the big triangular ones with a blackboard one side and whiteboard the other?

Ds3 had one for his 4th birthday and it's used every day plus was huge when wrapped so looked very impressive. Less than £20 from IKEA.

CaptainSpirit · 11/09/2021 20:35

My DD1 is 4 and she's getting a Frozen enchanted vanity table. Smile It plays music from the second movie and pictures light up on the mirror - we're going to set it up Christmas Eve night for her. The box it came in is pretty hefty!

HungryHippo11 · 11/09/2021 20:48

Thanks everyone :)
She has a bike and a scooter. Her younger sister is getting a wooden kitchen so I can't get her one of those Grin

She isn't really a "girly girl" so not into Disney princesses, frozen or barbie or anything like that. I guess she would be more into traditional boys toys - she likes magformers, aliens, pretending to be a detective or "rescuer".

I do love the easel idea and thats certainly big so thanks for that! And some dressing up costumes are a great idea too.

LeapFrog ice cream cart.

MeredithGreyishblue · 11/09/2021 20:52

The tall Imaginext toys are good.

Orangedaisy · 11/09/2021 20:52

A friend’s dd got a hot wheels garage at 4 and loved it.

What about a Wendy house? The type like a tent with a frame and then a fabric cover that you put over it. Could be used indoors and then go into the garden at summer.

A puppet theatre and puppets?

17caterpillars1mouse · 11/09/2021 20:58

Light up space hopper

We don't really have a space for anything like that in the house. I like the puppet theatre idea though, thanks

My daughter was 4 last year and we bought her a globe for Xmas which came in a big box and she loved it.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 11/09/2021 22:06

How about a tent? My dds got the ikea circus one when they were little, they loved it. Our house isn't massive but its stored behind their wardrobe and I put it up when they want it, sometimes in the garden.

Youngest dd is 9 and still got used lots this summer.

Or one of those colour in houses/igloos/rockets? You can get them in hobbycraft.

Beanbag for her room?

If she likes being a detective, how about a detective kit in a case. Then if you wanted to make it a bigger gift, have clues to follow that lead to something... maybe a box of treats or the missing Christmas pudding?

FireworkParrot · 11/09/2021 22:09

Little Tikes easy store giant slide.....stupid money new but we picked one up for my 4yo DD second hand on Facebook marketplace and it is used all the time.

I would second dressing up costumes, TK Maxx often have a good selection.
