Can anyone reccomend ideas or what they perhaps thought was suitable but turned out not to be.

We are looking at a santa train ride thing as he loves trains and enjoyed a recent Thomas train ride.

Then a light walk and he can run around and explore

Not sure he will be ready yet for more santa grotto experiences or making Xmas decoration type activity?

Thank you

We done a train ride and also a light walk, he really enjoyed them both.
He has no patience for craft type things.
I wasn't sure if to do the visit to santa either but pleased I didn't as he was abit scared when one came on the train.

There's places in my area that do little Xmas parties, like soft play centres they are always cute. Only 2 hours so the right amount of time.

We also visited raindeers at local garden centre, he wasn't too fussed tbh

My grandson helped me make mince pies at that age, he rolled out the pastry and stamped out the rounds. He filled a couple and the got bored.

Following! My son will be 18 months, I know that's much younger but I'm already very much looking forward to doing some christmassy things with him this year :)

Thank you everyone :) defo think I'll avoid the slightly older Xmas events and save them. I've also seen our local farm does an event so may try that. @Fernando072020 my little one loved small interactive farms from about 18 months old. And plane spotting at a local small airfield with a cafe :)

My DD was about 18 months the Xmas before covid. We went to an Xmas party at a local children's centre which was music, dancing, musical instruments to play with, an Xmas story, Santa came and they could sit with him for a photo, they got a free present and there was party food and drink for them. She didn't want to go near Santa but she enjoyed the rest of it. We also took her to a garden centre Christmas grotto, she got upset when she saw Santa but she got a present and she liked walking through the rest of the grotto and looking at stuff. I think we might also have taken her to some kind of basic craft making thing if I remember correctly, I think maybe making candy cane decorations and decorating a party hat or something? She was happy scribbling on them and things and that was free at a local museum.

DS loved the steam train ride and Kew Gardens lights at that age. We also went to a winter themed toddler show at the theatre which was aimed at 0-3.

Thank you the light show we are looking at is kew Gardens or Windsor :)

Our children centres are unfortunately not running much atm. I am gutted. Used to work in one many years ago and always envisioned going when I had children. There are a couple of play cafes nearby advertising Halloween parties so suspect they will do an Xmas one :)

Polar express train
Dobbies Christmas party (was very much aimed at toddlers)
Chester zoo Christmas lanterns

I wouldn’t spend too much doing ‘stuff’ the free light shows and walks are great for that age.

DS is 2. We have the following booked
Forest of Light Walk
Panto (I got cheap earlybird tickets so if he doesn't sit I don't lose much)
Awaiting details of local play place Christmas events as their Santa was lovely last time
Will visit Reindeer at local Garden Centre

Anything else I'm just waiting to see what comes out
