OK so what do you get a 45 year old, who only really needs socks!

What's the budget @lancslass17?

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 01/09/2021 19:35

Nice cashmere socks?

Personalised socks with your face on?

Mrgrinch · 01/09/2021 19:39

Some good ear/headphones
A good coat
Tickets for something

It's birthday before Xmas I'd say around £30

My DPs Birthdat is close to Christmas and I sometimes get him tickets to an event so that he has something to look forward to next year, the budget would be a bit more than £30 though but then I get a night out with him Smile

DH has a December birthday, I am thinking of a brown leather backpack 🎒

I also have a hard to buy for DH with a December birthday. We don't buy each other much for birthdays.Last year I bought him a shirt to wear for various Christmas dos. Sounds boring but I read on here years ago the suggestion that hard to buy for men are most satisfied by a new version of something they've already got. Has worked for him so far.
I'm thinking probably a new jumper or fleece this year looking at what he's been wearing since it turned a bit colder here.

My DH’s husband is mid December, he usually gets a shirt, some jeans and smellies.. but also very similar items for Christmas. This year he said he’d just like some cash to spend in the garden Hmm

For £30
A really nice cheese hamper
A wine / beer / whisky tasting experience
A mushroom growing kit
A beauty treatment / massage

For a higher budget
A leaf blower
Posh slippers

That's a really good tip! When I think about it one of DH's favourite presents of all time was a personalised wallet. I'd seen the link in the Christmas Bargains thread on MN luckily. It was really good quality Smile

I'm pretty lucky my OH is a big nerd lol can normally find him some kind of cd, book, blu Ray, tshirt, erchandise of something he's a fan of, beer etc. He also thinks of xmas as pants and socks restocking time lol.

I find he usually loves practical stuff too. I got him a magnetic wrist cuff about 2 xmases ago, he uses it all the time to hold nails whilst he is doing DIY. And the echo dot has been a massive hit too.
