I've got 2 DC, DD5 and DS2.
The vast majority of DS's toys are hand me downs from his sister for a few reasons:

  1. I hate wastefulness.
  2. The toys are still in perfect condition and all work really well. Some were quite pricy too.
  3. I can't justify buying for the sake of buying.
  4. We weren't precious about "boys and girls" toys meaning DS has inherited everything from wooden blocks, plastic mega blocks, jigsaws (with all the pieces still there, stealth brag!!), wooden tool sets, cars and garage

While this is all well and good, it means buying for DS is a nightmare because he has everything!

Any ideas for this year? He'll be turning 3 in January. He loves playing with DD's Play Mobil stuff and all her old little Peppa figurines so I'm thinking one of the age appropriate play Mobil sets and his own scooter.

Any other ideas?!

Go to the mulberry bush catalogue.

Wrap up DDs old bits and give them to him for Christmas/ birthday. He won't have a clue.
Some people may think it's unfair for 2nd child to get second hand stuff. On the other hand is unfair for them to get twice as much stuff - the second hand and then their own new as well.

I am planning to give my 18 month old her sister's old wooden kitchen for Christmas, I will buy a few new pots and pans to freshen it up a bit.

Things that get used up - paint, playdough, colouring pencils, paper, chalks etc.

Duplo if you don't already have any.

Any particular interests? Get a nice book about them (like a dinosaur encyclopedia or a guide to different farm vehicles for example)

A tonie or yoto player?
Balance bike?

A trick for a small gift. My kids always loved a torch.

These are all great! I never thought about the "themed" playdoh sets either.

Thanks folks☺️☺️

A children's cutlery set? You can buy nice metal ones. I still have my spoon and knife.
