What is etiquette to for my 3 year old to give her nursery teacher etc for Christmas?

My DD1 (3.5) started nursery school in August, so I have never done Christmas at "nursery". Can anyone give me some idea what to give the teacher, nursery nurse, and a couple of students for Christmas? Do I buy individual presents or one for the whole nursery? Is handmade by DD acceptable or do I buy a nice gift or chocolates?

I am in the same boat as you, I will probubly buy the teachers a box of chocs and get your DD to write her name in the card. That should be enough.

Good idea! Keep it simple.

I'm giving £30 in the Christmas card and telling them to have a drink on me at their Christmas do later this week.
Seems the easiest thing to do.

I don't know what to do either. Are you buying a present for them to share then? The staff at dds room keeps changing and tbh I can't keep up! Wouldn't know how to buy individual presents...

If buying a present to share - often easier at nursery - I went for a box of chocolates or a cake for them to have a break time. I then bought the nursery a present - book or toy for example, which was for children around DD's age group.

I gave 4 bottles of wine last year, and dd made a card to them all. Wine went in the kitty and was shared around.

At school this year (reception) I'm making indiviual xmas cakes for teacher and assistant; plus mini bottle of flavoured vodka for the teacher.

Last year I bought miniture candles, soaps and scents and that was appreciated.

tugamoomy - the staff change a lot at DD nursery too.

Hulababy - I like the idea of buying the nursery a present.

Thanks for the suggestions folks, it gives me an idea of what is acceptable without being either Scrouge or ott. {smile}

i am giving each teacher and the two assistants a small gift bag with one of those cute individual bottles of champers, a handpainted tea light holder I found in an artist gallery today, and some homemade fudge in a small box.

dd1 will make each a card with rubber stamps.

£30!!

That's my personal christmas budget!

They are getting a muffin and a glitter pine cone for their xmas tree!

Humbug!

you have to give the nursery teachers presents, is a tin of celebrations acceptable?
