Am at a bit of a loss. Would like to get something really nice for our lovely CM and her teenage son. DD has only been there a few months though and I don't really know CM's personal tastes in anything.

DP reckons we should give CM money and her son some vouchers. I don't know, it just seems a bit impersonal to me - any ideas?

My parents usually buy me wine, but then, they all know me very well! I think vouchers for her son are a good idea. How about some nice jewellery for the CM?

I have bought a game for my CM's children and some M&S vouchers for her. I didn't want to give her cash and I thought M&S was a good bet as she could use the vouchers for some lovely food or wine, something for the kids, etc

What about her favourite perfume? or, depending on what you want to spend, a manicure or pedicure

one of my parents has offered to plant up my outdoor pot which is sitting by my door with dead summer flowers in it.

She is a keen gardener and I obviously am not

I thought it was such a nice idea.

Ratclare - are you our childminder trying to tell me something?

Lovely bracelet - have never actually seen her wearing jewellery - maybe she saves it for when a nosey 11 month old little girl isn't about to chew it/break it/throw up on it...

I would be touched at receiving anything. It's my first Christmas as a CM.

Don't buy chocs/biscuits (sorry but 1 year I had 17 boxes)

How lovely Anniemac - Do let them know you appreciate them (tho I'm sure someone as thoughtful as you does)
