Far too many!
I buy for my mum, ds1, ds2, and dh.
I also buy for two other children (close friends), and three nephews/nieces. (My siblings agreed that once children arrive we don't buy for adults)

So grand total: 2 adult and 7 children!

But small bits for teacher, piano teacher, secret santa a work, etc; but nothing major.

Hulababy · 29/11/2007 18:51

Counted it up the other day - think it is something 22 or 23.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 29/11/2007 18:53

Oh blimey. I've never counted. Here goes...

28 adults
27 children

No wonder I haven't finished it all yet.

Oooh! Forgot the staff that's another 12. Plus 2 of their children.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/11/2007 18:57

32 children, 6 pairs of adults, plus dh at last count.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/11/2007 18:58

We don't buy for parents of the children btw.

wilbur · 29/11/2007 18:59

Dh and kids = 4
My immediate family = 3
Dh's immediate family = 11 (!)
Aunts, honorary grandparents = 3
Godchildren = 4
Close chums = 10 or so, but trinkets mostly
and then teachers, work etc - about 8 more gifts

So somewhere a bit over 40. Ridiculous. Right am off to drop some friends.

DarthVader · 29/11/2007 18:59

23 at least, twice that if we have a big family bash!

Wheelybug · 29/11/2007 19:05

DH and DD
24 other children
14 other adults

total 40.

sparklesandwine · 29/11/2007 19:05

oh no i hadn't even thought of the teachers yet!!

Walnutshell · 29/11/2007 19:08

FORTY SEVEN - WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?

17 here and some of those are as couples so will be token presents.

Oh, plus 2 dogs

Every year I try to cut it down further as am TIGHT WAD

Walnutshell · 29/11/2007 19:09

TEACHERS?

If I have to buy for teachers, I'm not sending ds to school.

(I'll buy for those 2 dogs though...)

HappyMummyOfOne · 29/11/2007 19:25

40+ people OMG!

I have 7 nieces and nephews, brother and SIL, MIL and hubby, FIL and BF 2 children. DS started reception in September so few extra this year as bought the 2 teachers and 2 after school club staff a present.

Obviously DH and DS as well to buy for.

roisin · 29/11/2007 19:45

Oops! I hadn't counted dh's family

  • he sorts them out himself.
So on top of mine earlier an additional 4 adults + 1 child = total 6 adults + 8 children
iheartdusty · 29/11/2007 19:47

we only buy for family plus teachers
so 22.

PLUS I have to come up with 4 different lists of suggestions for each of DD and DS for the benefit of GPs and aunts for BOTH birthday & Christmas for the benefit of 4 relatives, all around the same price level - drives me spare.

pyjamagirl · 29/11/2007 19:50

5 dc
11 dh family
16 my family
2 friends
3 teachers

37[gulp]

sparklesandwine · 29/11/2007 20:20

i'm glad i'm not the only one that has a lot to buy for it really is just ridiculous but as i've always done it i'm not quite sure how i figure out a way to be tight cut down now!

80sMum · 29/11/2007 20:30

Well, I buy as few as possible. One for my mother, one for goddaughter, one for her mum (friend)and one for friend at work and that's it. So the answer's 4. I also give gifts of money to ds and dd and goddaughter's db.

artichokes · 29/11/2007 20:30

I have a horror of the commericalism of christmas so make an effort to buy as few presents as poss - we have a big christmas party and are v generous with food and alcohol for that, but not gifts. We have an agreement with all family members with kids that we only exchange kids' presents (nothing between adults). I stopped buying friends xmas gifts ages OK (except oldest and best friend). DD and DH get one nice pressie each.

So in total I am only buying 9 childrens' presents and 4 adult presents!

Minum · 29/11/2007 20:33

DSs, nephews, teachers, DH

So 4 kids to buy for, 8 gratitude presents, and one romantic present

No family/friends adult presents, as we have a pact, but obviously lots of lovely food/wine contributions to take to all the family Christmas parties.

MrsBoo · 30/11/2007 10:07

We also decided to drop the adult presents recently - so just neices/nephews.
DH, DS and DD
Neices/Nephews - 16
2 sets of parents
2 sets of teachers/teaching assitants
Nursery and Afterschool
Siblings without kids - 2 couples
Honoury grandparents etc - 2

Total - 35ish

chodders · 01/12/2007 16:52

22 children/1 cleaner/1neighbour
5 elderley/3 teachers/4 couples
5friends/1husband/1 xhubby & fiance
2 sisters/2 guinea pigs

Approx 45 +{ I like 2 keep a few under the tree for the
unexpected or forgotten visitor]

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 01/12/2007 17:38

We have to buy for 18 adults and our DD. We also choose to buy for 25 adults and 16 children. They don't all get big presents though, but we like them to know that we appreciate and think of them.
