Counting toys for 3 year old

Hello

I know this is in the Christmas thread but I'm just browsing Christmas toys and on the lookout for a counting related toy for my little boy.

He really enjoys the cocomelon counting songs and can count on his fingers but I want something that is going to help him.

Any ideas or tried and tested toys that have made counting and learning fun for your little ones?
I understand he is only just turned 3 a few days ago but I would rather pick something up in preparation (and because I am struggling for ideas for Christmas due to him only being digger and Thomas the tank mad) Blush

Thank you in advance!

Numberblocks have a math link set out, no experience of it but I've heard it's very popular

This company also have lots of learning toys. I like the number ladybirds.

Rather pricey though

We have this toy for our 3 year old and he really enjoys playing with it. We actually used it a lot for his older brother when he was homeschooling through reception/year1 so it will last for a while age wise.

If you type 'melissa and doug counting' into Amazon lots of ideas come up, the stacking parking garage and the jigsaw being best IMO.
I've heard great things about the learning resources number blocks set but don't have it, although other learning resources stuff is great. Orchard toys also do a variety of counting games, I think the ones suitable for a 3 year old are game of ladybirds and catch and count. There may well be other counting games too, well worth a look.

DS got s lovely little wooden abacus from Jaques of London last year which he loved fiddling with, and is now starting to count on - "one! Two! Eight!" But he's only just two so a work in progress Grin

Definitely the Numberblocks Set

Or you can just get a plain Math cube set too

We’re still using this for maths at home age 7.

Oh and Shut The Box is a useful stocking toy to keep an eye out for. Will help with learning number bonds 1-10. Often in Home Bargains as a wooden toy for £2.99, probably more suitable for age 4-5?
