Present ideas for a 16yr old boy

Any ideas please?

He has pretty much everything. Phone, console, computer, TV etc. May get him a phone upgrade as this one is over 3 years old now and the battery has gone awful.

Doesn't really need any clothes but I will probably get some. Trainers already on the list.

I've already bought some aftershave.

Does like football but we've done the stadium tours etc. Already have music tickets for next year (that was 2019 Xmas presents - delayed due to covid!)

Doesn't like reading, gadgets, games of any sort.

Has said not to buy him stuff he doesn't need but isn't suggesting anything he would like either!

I may give him vouchers or money but it's not really a present in my eyes.

I know it's early but I would like to get a few generic bits soon to spread the cost and bulk his present pile out a bit.

Its so hard at this are usually! Iusually get couple of hoodies
Lounge wear
Smellies
Couple of console games
Books which he probably won't read but more dip into books about TV shows he might watch rather than novels.
Maybe a magazine subscription of something he likes?
I was thinking of a mini fridge for his bedroom but then I really never would see him!

I’m following your thread because I’ll be in a similar position this year.
Last year I bought 2 fleece blankets from Red Bubble, one to put on his bed and one to snuggle up in on the sofa. They were thin and plush and so soft just like a baby’s comforter, he loves them.
This year the only stocking filer I’ve thought of so far is a tin of 4 giant biscuits, but will get this closer to Christmas as the best before dates are not good.

Hoodie; lounge pants- I got ds Marvel ones from Asda; and just go with money!

He did mention an electric scooter but I thought they weren't legal to ride? Not sure, it was a while ago!

Theory test programme is a good idea!

But yes, it's a tricky age. They've already done so much but aren't quite adults. I want to make the most of the next few Christmases whilst he is still a "kid".

There’s an app for the theory test which my 17 year old son said was way better than the books I’d bought him as a birthday present, so app may well be better than cd Rom.
He also got a sheepskin rug for by his bed which went down well. Smaller stuff that has been well received includes a power bank, a wallet ninja, happy socks, posters, and food (!). Either sweets of some sort or other snacks - Heinz did personalised bean tins the other year,Lidl did a yard long salami. Think Pringle have also done large tin.

For my son's 16th, I booked us both in to do an 'Escape Room' - if you have one close by it's worth every penny. I had the same quandary- he's 18 now and still talks about that birthday!! Such a laugh and a fab memory.

Love some of these ideas.

I'll add:

Voucher for Turkish barbers (or other) for haircut and full pamper e.g. hot towel, shave, face mask, monobrow (if got one) and shoulder massage. My boys LOVE a pamper.

Men's grooming kit including decent tweezers and nail clippers and a mirror. I bet they steal yours!

A nicer body spray than their usual e.g. Hugo Boss

Hotel Chocolat

My DS loves voucher cards for supermarkets that he passes on the way home from school so he doesn't have to dip into his pocket money.

Primark does really good plain joggers and hoodies and loungewear. I used to pay ££££ for Superdry and the quality is no better.

My DS recently received a nightgown Kimono from Tom, Dick, and Harry as a present and he loves it.

I got a really decent pair of dark brown sheepskin slippers in Aldi for £8 last winter and my DS loves them.
