Baby Annabell or Baby Born

Dd will turn 3 at Christmas and has been baby doll obsessed for about a year now. At the moment she has mainly soft / rag type dolls and a few small soft body dolls.

For Christmas (or her birthday) I'd like to get her a bigger doll and these two seem to be the most popular, but which one to go for?

I got this JL doll for my nieces 3rd bday and she loves her

I'm not sure what the difference is because we never looked into it, but Grandparents bought my DD a Baby Annabell for her 4th birthday and she loves it.
It's got batteries so you can switch it on, and it cries, sucks on the dummy and you can give it water, but to be honest she doesn't switch it on that much.
Our best purchase ever has been this double pushchair, she spends all day pushing her dolls around

My DD has both.

Annabel is soft bodied, hard limbed. She can't go in the bath. She makes noises but the batteries are easily removed!

B. born is hard bodied and can be bathed. She can also be fed and wees. This can go mouldy if you don't get it out completely (I didn't let DD feed her 😂).

Out of the two, I preferred Annabel

We have a mix, baby Annabelle, Baby Borne, asda, Morrison’s, home bargains, b&m…to be honest I couldn’t tell you which is which. All my DDs are obsessed with stripping the clothes off dolls regardless of what kind of doll it is and they all look the same. Even the Our Generation and barbie dolls are all bloody naked or wearing the completely wrong outfits.

We have hard bodied ones that go in the bath and soft bodied ones that don’t. If your DD wants ones to take in the bath I’d recommend getting cheap ones as they do get mould quickly if water gets trapped. I regularly pick cheap ones up from charity shops to go in the pool or bath.

I just bought my 3yo the Baby Borne bottle house which she loves.

If your looking for dress up clothes I bought some themed doll clothes of eBay last year, I got a Christmas dress with hat, witches outfit, Christmas pjs, they were to 18” our generation type dolls but are perfect for most of the baby dolls we have, my 3yo loves putting them in her dolls, she dresses the dolls up to match herself.

Baby Annabelle for more of that "real" baby play as it cries and burps and coos and wees (actually found myself rocking and soothing it once whilst heavily pregnant with twins it was very life like!)

John Lewis collectors doll for more "grown up"
Play as lots of lovely outfits which can also be mix and matched with the Argos Design a Friend ones

Don't like the mygeneration ones at all - they are much cheaper and fake looking although does have a very extensive range of accessories

I am answering this as a mother of 2 very grown up children: this thread is on active...I thought Baby Born was far more attractive than Annabel but don't know about the latest updates in the doll world (sadly)

Same here. DD has loads of "babies" none of them have clothes on.

I know she has one from Tesco (think she's called Emmi?) and she's been well loved.
