If you tend to get a fake Christmas tree, why?

Wouldn't you rather have a real one?
I don't understand fake trees. What are the advantages?

its always the lights that i like not the actual tree

....oh and i don't really like the smell of real ones

One big advantage - real trees don't come in purple!

(also, I got sick of hoovering up pine cones and finding them months later even though I know you can get ones that don't shed now).
