I think I'd like to buy a DS Lite (pink) ......

Do I want touch screen or dual screen? (I imagined they'd be the same)

Are they stopping the pink ones?

Should I be happy with a deal that includes 3 games (I'm lead to believe thats a false economy).

CripleH I figured it wasn't the intended idea. It's actually marketed for designing your own games, something my bro is doing as part of his course at Uni and what he hopes to do eventually. But I just thought it's a shame they don't figure a legal way to sell them, maybe if you downloaded the game on, it would wipe the game off the cartridge? (not sure what DS uses), just so you didn't have to carry the games with you.

Do the same games work on both DS and DS Lite?

After having a go of my brother's Lite, my mum has been hinting to her partner that she'd like one for Xmas.

It's all very well having these bundle offers or discounts but I've yet to find one with the right combuination in stock

DS and DS lite play the same games. We were in Game this afternoon and they had lots of popular games as BOGOF. They also had the consoles in stick, which is more than Amazon and Play!

coffeecrazedmama I just got one from GAME. The shops don't seem to have any stock but I have just ordered online from them. Hopefully a bit more reliable than other sources (famous last words!). Will let you know when it arrives but it says immediate dispatch.

frumpy -how on earth did you manage? I have trawled all the websites, have Argos on text message alert, and tried every shop in Kingston today (including Game)! Am very Man in Game was very gloomy about my chances of getting one. Just hope Amazon come through for me. I will keep an eye on Game website anyway. You were so lucky!

Has anyone tried Blockbusters? They usually have DS in Stock. To answer some questions: Nintendo DS means Nintendo Dual Screen, they all have 2 screens, with just one being a touch. DS and DS lite have the same games,(with the exception of the internet browser: the comes in different sizes) you can also use the gameboy advanced games in the other slot, but you wont be able to use touch screen with them.
The cases are good if you have a destructable child, but most importantly are screen protectors, and and you usually get 3 in a pack i use all 3 at once! Also getting extra stylus pens is a good idea, because they are easily lost. Also, Blockbusters are one of the best for trading games, and buying 2nd hand games. any more questions, feel free to ask!!

Panic over - got a pink one on-line from www.gameseekers.co.uk - only place showing availability. Had one on order with Amazon but they said they could not guarantee pre-Christmas delivery (only after I checked 'where's my stuff' ). When the staff in John Lewis and Game at Kingston told me they could not get hold of any more I was worried. Didn't want to give dd3 an IOU for Christmas! Got an email an hour or so later to say it had been despatched - so the exhorbitant (sp) postage charge - £5.99 - may turn out to be worth it!

And yes, it arrived, they were a bone fide website not a bunch of fly-by-night cowboys making free with my credit card details! Arrived special delivery today so am very pleased indeed. Feel better about the £5.99 postage charge as it is actually so sensible to use special delivery at this time of year.

Now I just have to sort out the other 3 dcs...
