Christmas Card Holders

what do you hang your Christmas card up with?

In the past I have stuck them to the walls (not after decorating though) or the doors but this year we should be moved into our new house and they don't have any internal doors so am wondering what to do with our cards...

Any suggestions welcome, especially links so I can see..

Many thanks

we just stick them in the books/cds on the shelves, but hanging them on strings across the room can look quite festive

card holders

thanks for that

Really not too keen on any of those card holders (sorry)

think that is my problem - far too fussy....

Any one else?

Do you have picture rails?
We tie a long bit of ribbon (cheap stuff) to picture rail hooks and staple the cards to the ribbon.
Ok we don't have picture rails anymore but use the edges of cupboards etc

i've had this www.christmastimeuk.com/display_details.php?action=details&code=3440000&cat=37&subcat=71 sort of thing from next actually - and quite nice because you don't see the string, just the pegs (know you said you didn't like the holders on that site!)

I always use a thick (about 3") festive ribbon (similar to a tartan pattern) and use drawing pins and pin the ribbon to the coving/cornis (sp?). This is usually in the lounge over a blank wall or sometimes near a doorway (not over a doorway) so they hang down and staple all the cards to them at an angle.

Hope that makes sense? It looks really lovely and festive.

We used to put them on the shelves among the books etc like MrsBadger, but I got fed up with even doing that, so have given up completely, and just put them in a big bowl in the dining room.

thanks for the ideas

looks like ribbon it is then..
(assuming we get any cards of course)...

we jusrt put a few out - or rather dd1 does, and the rest are in a pile, usually in the magazine rack!

I'm getting some of this - no idea what it's like or if it works. So that's probably no help! Lakeland usually v good though and such excellent customer service - I love them.

Heifer · 22/11/2007 07:34

like just the thing DooDoDooDoDoMaNuhMaNuh thanks.

Am just going to order - which means that once start ordering at Lakeland I won't be able tovstop!..

Can someone please send out a search party for me if I am not back within 10 mins, as every minute spent on Lakeland site probably costs around £50....

Waitrose are selling the card holders that are string with little pegs. I think they're about £2.00.

Yes, Heifer, that's the problem with Lakeland... I've just had an email to say my order's been dispatched
