.. I usually recycle same menu plans year after year with the odd twist, and normally wouldn't even start to think of it just yet. But reading various threads know many of you have already done your meal plans... any one want to share them to inspire me/save me some time?

Christmas fortnight? Really? We do Christmas day and Boxing day - then back to normal!

We are having turkey with all the trimmings, Christmas pud and mince pies for me (I hate CP!) then on BD we will have a buffet style tea with the turkey, pringles, meats, cheeses, french bread etc.

That's it

similar to you lewisfan, except we have gammon on boxing day - you tend to hit on something that works and stick with it it IMHO. For us christmas involves turkey (believe me DH and I would eat almost any other bird on earth before turkey, but the kids like it) and i always make cranberry sauce, pork pie for boxing day, and we have roast gammon, and bacon butties on christmas morning, other than that I fill the fridge and we forage at appropriate times

we are away this Christmas although I may do a special meal at new year. I am missing my pre Christmas preparations.

I saw the M&S party food ads and they look so nice - I am off to buy some scallop thingys and those pop in your mouth individual chocolate puddings - M&S here I come asap.

Christmas "fortnight" only because I take the full 2 weeks off work, we have my Mum staying the whole time and tend to catch up with lots of friends/family so lots of cooking, which I don't mind, but just fancied some new ideas.

On Christmas Eve we have a lovely evening meal with crackers and a small present each to get us in the swing - shellfish starter, Beef Wellington for DH and me, but duck for the faddy DDs. Nigel Slater's Lemon Icecream tart with gingernut crust or fancy icecreams for pudding.

Boring turkey with all the trimmings on Xmas day followed by similar cold pud - profiteroles maybe - I like CP but no-one else does.

Boxing Day I am fed up of cooking so it's nibbles, tiny crostinis, vol au vents and crisps and nuts and turkey-and-stuffing sandwiches - DIY!

Probably not any new ideas in there for you Lilolil but it helped me organise my thoughts

Glad to be of service!! Quite fancy beef wellington or salmon en croute for Christmas Eve myself. Will also make Nigella's lemon meringue icecream to stick in the freezer.
