What do older children (11-14) want for Christmas these days?

I'm very out of touch with this age group. We need to buy for

11 yo girl
14 yo girl

who are sisters - not money as we gave that last year, and prefer an actual present.

Also

11 yo boy
13 yo girl (very bright, and also musical (plays cello))

who are siblings.

Budget is between £10 and £20 each.

All suggestions gratefully received. We have over 30 children to buy for, and it all gets a bit much coming up with new ideas every year!

bump for you as I need some ideas for 11 (nearly 12) year old god-daughter.

Last year I bought her the Strictly Dancing Book (which she desperately wanted) and a gliter ball filled with lip-gloss and smellies (from Boots or Superdrug?)

I've got neice and nephew (i think they're 12 and 15) toiletries/smellies. Nephew's is Adidas stuff with a football in.

BettySpaghetti · 17/11/2007 21:24

Strictly Come Dancing, that is

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/11/2007 21:28

I hated getting toiletries as a kid, so can't bring myself to buy them for anyone else!

And 14yr old nephew a small remote controlled helicopter for £20

cremolafoam · 17/11/2007 21:34

love your name forkhandles

here's the link i did wrong:
firebox

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/11/2007 21:41

We shop alike forkhandles - sure I bought Bop It for someone a few years ago (though oddly can't find it listed in my present book ), and have already bought a remote controlled helicopter for someone else!

Even more worried after seeing how specific your list is cremola!
Love firebox though (was using them before they even changed their name to firebox!) so will take a browse on there.

If you have the time and energy, for the two girls, it might be nice to do a "hamper" of stuff -
Eg: pamper pack with bubble bath, lipgloss, hair stuff, those things to divide toes when painting nails, nail varnish etc.
OR girls' night in pack with popping corn, hot chocolate, marshmallows, dvd rental voucher or dvd etc

forkhandles · 17/11/2007 21:44

I think the helicopter looks like great fun, DH would probably like one but it wouldn't last 2 secs in our house of madness!

leather gloves for the 14 yr old- quite nice if she's a mature 14 yr old?
