Blimey, it's a minefield. There are lots of versions and some in German (possibly a bit difficult for your little ones...). These are the words I know:

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh, Christmas Tree
How lovely are your branches.
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh, Christmas Tree
How lovely are your branches,
In summer sun or winter snow,
A coat of green you always show.
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh, Christmas Tree
How lovely are your branches.

O Xmas tree, o xmas tree
how lovely are your branches (x2)
they're green when summer days are bright
theyr're green when winter snow is white
o Xmas tree etc

how about.. when santa got stuck up the chimney,

When Santa got stuck up the chimney,
He began to shout:
"You girls and boys,
Won't get any toys,
If you don't pull me out!"

"My beard is black,
There's soot in my sack,
My nose is tickling too!"

When Santa got stuck up the chimney,
"Aaachooo, achoo, achoo!"

hope this helps.

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 20:37

yes indeed slouchy

I use the same songs year in year out and knew you would all have some different ones

Brit no problem, I expect other people might find this thread useful as well so ones I have already got are still helpful

Christmas is coming
The goose is getting fat
Please put a penny in the old man's hat
If you haven't got a penny a ha'penny'll do
If you haven't got a ha'penny then God Bless You
(oh darn - is religious. Sorry!)

BigHotMama · 13/11/2007 21:31

The Little drummer boy?

bluenosesaint · 13/11/2007 23:22

I'm a snowman (to the tune of frere jacque ...)

I'm a snowman (point at self)
I'm a snowman
Big and round (making big arm gestures)
Big and round
Roly poly snowman (roly poly action with arms)
Roly poly snowman
Melt to the ground (whilst melting to the ground, lol)
Melt to the ground

bluenosesaint · 13/11/2007 23:26

Also:

'Whose that coming on Christmas night?'

Whose that coming on Christmas night
With his red red coat and his hair all white
Eyes that sparkle like the starry night
I know,
Don't you?

Who has a sack thats filled with toys
With lots of presents for girls and boys
A magical sleigh that makes no noise
I know,
Don't you?

(then everyone shouts "FATHER CHRISTMAS!"
