Just one from all of us. Sometimes a little extra something from ds's to the grandparents and aunties, but its usually something they've made themselves so cute but free.
I try to be very organised and thoughtful with xmas presents but don't think my nerves (or budget) would stand it if I had to buy 3 or 4 separate ones for everyone!
Oh and for my own friends I just get a pres from me.

One from the lot of us. I will buy my mum & lil bro a little something extra from Babyshoes this yr as it is his 1st christmas - probably something cheesey like a Grandma's boasting book and a fab uncle mug lol.
Sod buying seperates usually tho - far too much hassle and far too expensive!

jelliebelly · 26/10/2007 09:40

One from all of us apart from grandparents who get something from ds as well. Ds is only 2 though - with older children I guess they might like the idea of giving pressies themselves?

flowerybeanbag · 26/10/2007 09:43

We will be buying from all 3 of us, don't want to get into the habit of buying 2 pressies for everyone, one from us, one from DS. That would get a bit ridiculous and expensive, so am nipping it in the bud straight away at DS's first Christmas!

foofi · 26/10/2007 09:47

One from the family.

mixedmama · 26/10/2007 14:19

We buy one from us and one from DS (soon to be DS's). The pressie from DS is always something really small tho.

NomDeBroomstick · 26/10/2007 14:20

one from all of us.

helphelphelphelp · 26/10/2007 14:23

one from all of us

We are the tight fisted ones that last year announced that we weren't buying presents and we didn't want any. It was very refreshing and there wasn't the huge mound of wrapping paper and presents that are rubbish (DH's family are really bad at buying presents and we always get things that end up getting recycled one way or another - it just proves how little they know us).

Some people couldn't resist buying for DS, but he just didn't know what was going on anyway. Once there are more children in the family, we will buy a family present for them.

bozza · 26/10/2007 19:08

One from all of us. Although I usually wrap up the school photo of the children and put that as from them. Also sometimes I might get them to make something. Not sure what this year yet.

nappyaddict · 27/10/2007 15:19

flowerybeanbag, foofi and NDP does that include to Grandparents and godparents too if there are any?

OP posts:
NomDeBroomstick · 27/10/2007 21:42

no godparents (atheists) but it does include grandparents.

DarthVader · 28/10/2007 08:09

Close family often get "extra" presents from dd

nappyaddict · 28/10/2007 13:25

also do you get joint presents for grandparents, brothers/sisters and their ohs etc or one each.

Elphaba · 28/10/2007 13:47

Gifts are from all of us
Usually do separate gifts for each half of a partnership but sometimes joint (e.g. my grandparents usually get a calendar with photos of the boys in, may get chocolates/biscuits to share - that sort of thing) - depends how easy the individuals are to buy for!!

nappyaddict · 28/10/2007 13:58

how much do you all roughly spend. do you think you spend more cos it is from the whole family?

i tend to spend about £10 on everyone, £5 for friends kids and cousins.

ellehcim · 28/10/2007 14:03

Definitely from all of us otherwise it would be way too expensive.
We do our immediately family presents from anyone popular at the time. Family tradition. DS1 therefore will be receiving gifts from Diego, Spiderman, Sporticus and Fireman Sam.
From the age of about 5 my sister always got one from Jeff Capes of Britains Strongest Man fame. He was often most generous.

nickToD · 28/10/2007 14:12

Yes from all of us. We used to buy presents for everyone in the family brothers, sisters, cousins, kids e.t.c but it got soooo expensive and so stressful trying to find something original every year. Now we only buy for the kids and a small pressie (bottle of wine/ box of chocs etc.) for the grown ups. It's brill- christmas shopping is fun again and we don't all end up with a pile of unused gifts.

FlameInHell · 28/10/2007 14:31

All of us normally - sometimes get creative from the children for family members (you know they love the wonky piece of artwork that must be treasured forever )
