I have my ds (5), sister (23), parents (49 and 50) and nan (70-somethng!)

Any ideas on exceptionally cheap, but decent presents? Would e-bay be off limits?

All help gratefully received.

Thats true but it's finding them at this time of year. We only have 1 local one now and it's not very good

Tell everyone over the age of 22.5 that this is not a Christmas you can spend money, so ask that you have an agreement between you that no more than £5 (or whatever you can actually afford - £3, maybe) per gift is spent. At least some of the people on your list will be grateful to only have to spend that, I bet!

Just occasionally, getting the whole thing back to a realistic and honest scale is what is needed!

Then create a way to make sure that the exchange of presents is a fun, sociable, happy occasion. DP's family astound me - they unceremoniously shove envelopes of meney at each other when dropping kids off, etc.

A photo of your little one in a frame for your nan (school photo?).

For your mum and dad a photo of your daughter again, or yourself and daughter? I got a frame for £5 which said nan and grandads little monsters which I put a pic of my sons in. Or make a lavender bag (I have loads in the garden if you want me to send some??).

For your daughter. Well, my son wanted lego police boats, cars etc and some meccano. I went into Wilkinsons and got police lego (not proper lego) for £1.99 and meccano for £2.99. Also got a nivea gift set for £2.99 for MIL.

For your sis, Wilkos also do some bath heart fizzers for 99p and other things to match!
