It’s 12 days, right? And after all that planning and such a shit year I’m not ready to let it go. Is anyone else going to stretch the festivities as far as they can, and if so, how?

Lots of tv and films. Loads of food. Some craft and board games. I came on yesterday and have adenomyosis so tbh I'd be doing the lounging round and eating anyway. I had a busy end to the year at work do I'm ready to rest. As is my partner who has been working very hard all year as his role is civil service /NHS related.

Hohomerryxmas · 26/12/2020 19:30

Rest, relaxation, family time, eating, crap tv, board games, try and try and organise and find space for all the gifts

takeyourcanvasbag · 26/12/2020 19:34

Just relaxing and spending time with the family really. Eating all the nice food. Going on some walks.

nitgel · 26/12/2020 19:52

Fuck all. Look forward to working from home next week. Perhaps the novelty of spending a extra day on the sofa instead of dining room desk.

DrunkenKoala · 26/12/2020 20:04

DD wants to do the Peter Rabbit Trail at a local NT. We’re tier 4 but I think they’re still open.
Go for walks.
Bake and decorate DD’s b’day cake.
Eat, watch tv, sleep.

mamaduckbone · 26/12/2020 22:54

Similar really - walks, eating, films, games. I've started a jigsaw and if it doesn't get finished before I go back to work it'll still be there next Christmas so I'll aim to finish that. The dcs are desperate to see friends (outdoors) as we made them isolate when they finished school so we could see grandparents on Christmas Day so I'm guessing a lot of the above will just be me and dh.

DipSwimSwoosh · 26/12/2020 23:20

Swimming, climbing, walks and DIY.

sensibleheartxo · 27/12/2020 09:33

I'm going to try really hard to enjoy these precious few days off work. Resting, eating, dog walks, bike rides, organise all the Christmas presents, put the Christmas decorations away, bit of a spring clean, set up my new diary for next year, set up a bullet journal for the first time, think of things I want to do next year, plan new recipes for (re)staring Slimming World in January, read, sleep, board games, pray I fit into my work clothes after all the delicious food I've ate the last few days!!

TheSandgroper · 27/12/2020 09:47

Drinking white wine in the sun. Swimming. Walking on the beach. Reading.
Deciding which bit of my dads house will get a scrubbing this summer. Drinking more white wine in the sun.

reluctantbrit · 27/12/2020 10:17

If the weather is good then going for a walk. Some board games and DD has to start going through her stuff as she will get her room redecorated (subject to lockdown, but she is a bit of a hoarder).

Her riding school is allowed to stay open so she goes for a lesson on Wednesday.

She also needs to do more cooking, she is good with campfire meals but lacks confidence on a hob strangely enough.

I am back to work for 3 days.

AuntieStella · 27/12/2020 10:20

Getting my running mojo back, whilst also tackling the Christmas cholocate mountain (usually it's a cheese mountain, but the shopping seems to have worked out differently this year!!)

Just enjoying the company of teens - the nagging to make sure they are ready for the start of term (online, I assume) can wait a few more days

ExpensivelyDecorated · 27/12/2020 10:20

DH and I are both off work this week. Walking, baking, reading, jigsaws, films, TV, a bit of DIY. Watching the darts. Both DCs have school work to do, nudging that along. Might do my tax return, get it out of the way.

BiddyPop · 27/12/2020 10:24

In the company of a teen here too who seems to have checked out of family life, so cajoling her back into it.

Board games, jigsaws, walks, baking.

I want to read and watch movies too in my very precious time off.

And i need to do some sorting if the house, while cajoling teen into studying for exams in summer (GCSE-equivalents).

When the weather is more cooperative during the week, I plan to have a fire pit in the back garden some evenings.

elQuintoConyo · 27/12/2020 13:16

Walking dog on the beach, cycling, board games, lots of crafts (making a sticks-from-the-woods Christmas tree this afternoon), Christmas films, mooching, reading, Zooming with family. Got friends coming round for New year's Eve, will celebrate 5th which is Kings night here, open the gifts they bring. Schools don't go back until 11th, so we've got plants of time for chilling.

frustrationcentral · 27/12/2020 13:18

Not a huge amount. DH is off most of the week which makes a change, we'll probably just binge watch a few things. We normally have his brother and family to stay over new year - obviously not this year Sad.

santasmincepie · 27/12/2020 16:56

Not a lot. Been isolating since 14th December and it's getting old! Stuck in until New Year's Eve and just want to go for a walk! Going to visit my DM on new year's day (we're in a support bubble) so really looking forward to that!!

Howmanysleepsnow · 28/12/2020 17:38

@santasmincepie why so long? In the uk the isolation period is only 10 days now. Are you in another country?

OP posts:
santasmincepie · 28/12/2020 17:45

@Howmanysleepsnow because my DP tested positive first so I had to isolate as a close contact of him and then my symptoms started about 6 days later. The 10 days starts all over again when that happens.

Howmanysleepsnow · 29/12/2020 10:13

@santasmincepie ugh, that’s tough. Hope you feel better soon and time passes quickly.
