Just that really! I usually boil and then glaze and roast on the same day but I'm wondering if I can do the boiling part the night before?

Yes. It will be lovely. Yum - can I come?

Yes! Im doing mine today and then it can sit and 'marinade' in its glaze and be baked tomorrow. Makes it tastier!!

Oh excellent! That's a good tip about leaving it in the glaze overnight too. There was conflicting advice online but nigella seemed to think of you brought it up to room temperature before roasting it would be best.

Yes, thats what I do. Boil on xmas eve, glaze (roughly nigellas cherry coke with the odd tweak) then leave in fridge overnight. Get it out about half an hour before oven time then give it about 20 mins in the oven.

Always Beautiful!

How long do you boil for?

Apileofballyhoo · 24/12/2020 09:08

That's what I do. Saves hassle and time on Christmas Day.

TonkinLenkicks · 24/12/2020 09:22

Yes. I'm doing mine right now! Just make sure it's fully cooled and then wrapped tightly In cling film so it doesn't dry out

Trolls I boil for 15 mins per lb then glaze then about 20 mins in oven at whatever temp ive got the oven at. Never failed me yet!

Yes, I do it every year as my DM did. Then leave it in the cooking water (cider and water with cloves, peppercorns, celery and a carrot) overnight so it doesn't dry out. Glaze and reheat next day. Yum!
