Who buys the DC presents in your house?

This is literally ALL left to me. We both work full time but if I left it to H there wouldn't be a single present for the kids. He doesn't even know what I've bought OR care!

Anyone else? I still have everything to wrap 😡😡😡

I buy. DH likes the surprise on Christmas morning of seeing what Santa brought. He tries not to look while I wrap. Although he did choose and buy an Apple Watch for DS15 (his DSS) this year, which was really sweet.
DD13 likes to help with stocking fillers/ wrapping for the others though (but has asked I do the main bits without her so she can be genuinely surprised by some of her brothers’ gifts).
I don’t mind as I enjoy it.

I buy and wrap everything, and enjoy doing so. He hates it. He just gives me his bank card and lets me get on with it. I love picking things out for people!

I have paid for, brought & wrapped every single gift for all 4 children & all relatives & friends for 30 years.
He wonders why I am fed up with it

Me too. My DH had the cheek to moan he didn't like someone that I bought for a relative on his side. I flipped, told him he can buy the gifts himself then, the ungrateful git.

We do talk about what to buy for who but I'll just pick for the women and it always seems to be me that actually gets them whether that's ordering, collecting or shopping for them. I think he's got a couple of things for his dad himself and the rest I've bought.

I also wrap everything, I've seen his wrapping skills when I get my presents for him 🙈😂 so I don't let him.

It was same growing up my days didn't have a clue what they had bought me as mum did all the shopping.

@dementedpixie

We both buy stuff and dh had preordered the PS5 in September i think. I wrap most stuff. Dh wraps my presents.
This is out house too. I would say most years I buy 75% of the gifts and wrap 100%. DH does buy and wrap my presents.

I do everyone else though.

Parker231 · 19/12/2020 22:43

We sit down and make the list for everyone. Then divide the shopping between us. Most is bought online with the overseas presents delivered directly to them. We spend an evening wrapping everything else.

Ltdannygreen · 19/12/2020 23:38

I do most of the organising, DP usually knows the main present but the little stuff he’s usually as surprised as them.

DH will be more surprised at DD’s gifts than she will. I don’t think he has even read her wish list. I take care of 100% of Christmas.

Suzi888 · 20/12/2020 04:42

I do, but I love it and we share the cost.

HazeyJaneII · 20/12/2020 06:32

Both of us, buy and wrap.

yearinyearout · 20/12/2020 07:25

Me, have done since the day they were born. Most years he doesn't even know what I've bought them (they're adults now)

maybemove · 20/12/2020 10:39

We normally decide on the main gifts together and I buy everything else. Even when trying to show him what I’ve bought or discuss it he doesn’t seem interested in the slightest.
Then he’ll tell me I’ve bought too much, or random crap for the stockings - I can’t win!

Wrapping is always me - but that’s because he’s really bad at it. One year I wasn’t out of the hospital that long and he was trying so hard to help, in the end he was lifting presents up to me on the bed and being the finger that held the paper in place while I taped - he was so proud of that Hmm
